Dear Journal~

Louie here.  Sorry if I haven't written in so long; been very busy.  Between work, the kids, and whatnot, I just don't have the time to write like I used to.

Maybe I just need to lay low for a while, take a break ...

Yet I can't because I'm the chief breadwinner in this family.  My husband and some of the kids work, but after bills, there's not much money left.  It's really frustrating; we seem to have more paycheck than money before the end of the month is even over! 

Maybe the Fourth of July will revive my sagging spirit.  I have been rather depressed lately. Maybe it's because of what Audrey Callaway and her family are going through with Susie.  Still don't know anything; last I knew, Susie was not responding to treatment; she was in a catatonic state.  I heard she'd quit breathing, but I don't know if the doctors were able to save her or not; Audrey never called back after she'd call me the first time.  So I'm left in limboland.

All I can do is pray for Audrey and especially for Susie.  That poor girl needs all the prayers she can possibly get!

This weekend is the Fourth.  We are going to go to our city's annual "Red, White, And BOOM!" Festival, which will include concerts by local and national acts on three stages, a huge parade (that's the day before), speeches, contests for all ages, rides for the kiddies, and fireworks every night (Thursday-Sunday, with Sunday's show being the biggest Nashville has ever seen).  I will have to make sure to pack plenty of sunscreen, first aid cream, bandages/bandaids, iodine, etc. al, as well as some of the kids' medications.  That way, if a problem comes up, I can take care of it as quickly as possible.  Don't want to be surprised; those are the kinds of surprises I can do without!!

Same applies with extra clothes, diapers, and what not.  That's another kind of situation I can do without!  You never know when the kids will need to be changed or have to have their clothes changed because they spilled food or juice (or soda) on them!  *rolling eyes*

Other than chasing kids, working (I AM off this weekend; I can use a break from work; Bill is off too!), and church business, I'm okay.  Just don't have as much money as I would like; it's expensive raising this Army (or Navy, Air Force, or Marine) group!  LOL  *Sorry, bad joke; bad attempt at military humor!*

Well, I have to run; have to get the gang ready for church.  Have to be there in about an hour; singing today as part of the worship team.  I will write more, probably around the fourth of July, or thereabouts.  Until then, you won't hear from me.  Until next time, take care and God bless; this is Louisiana saying so long!  Have a safe Fourth of July weekend; stay safe and enjoy the fireworks!
