Dear Journal~
Louie here. This will not be long; am at work as I write this (slow right now; might as well take advantage of it; already checked on my patients). Thought I would update you as to what is going on with Audrey Callaway and her family, in particular, their daughter, Susie, who has been in the hospital.
Susie hs suffered a stroke. It was a massive one. She is completely paralyzed and requires twenty-four hour care. It's like her body has shut down completely; she is not really responding (or getting better) as the doctors had thought she should. She is breathing on her own, thankfully, but until she responds, the extent of damage to her brain won't be known. Right now it is a "wait-and-see" period.
We don't konw anything more than that.
Rick (Audrey's husband) called us to tell us the news and of the latest. I can't imagine the pain they must be going through; it has got to be so hard for them! Well, not only them, but for Naomi Cohen, who is Audrey's sister, and her family, in particular, Rebekkah, who is Susie's closest friend.
I have alerted the church; they are already praying for a miracle for Susie and her family. We are praying, too, but somehow, there's a niggling feeling in my spirit that just won't go away. I don't know what the outcome for Susie will be, but right now, things are not looking very good.
Until we hear from Rick or Audrey again (or even Wayne, who is Audrey's brother), we won't know anything.
Well, I hate to run, but I have to get back to work: I'm being paged to a patient's room; the patient might be in trouble. I will write in here probably around the Fourth of July weekend (in a few days) or until I hear anything else about Susie Callaway. Until then, this is Louie signing off! Take care and please, please, please keep the Callaway family in your prayers; they can really use a miracle!!!! I'd greatly appreciate it (as would they)! Thanks in advance!
