Howdy!! It's me, your little bluegrassin' buddy, Colton Blaze Ramey!!  Hope this finds y'all doing awesome!! I am doing just super!!

In a few weeks, I will be a big first grader.  I cannot wait!  I will get to improve on my reading and writing skills, and I will learn more numbers past the number 20, plus learn about our world and stuff!  I am going to be so smart!!

I have been having a lot of fun this summer, pickin' and singin' at many bluegrass festivals with my family.  We have a bluegrass band called "The Ramey Bunch", and I sing and play mandolin or fiddle.  We have sung with some of the best acts that bluegrass has to offer, including Dr. Ralph Stanley, who is very, very famous!  He was very nice, and he said that we were going to be big stars one day!  That was so cool; I nearly cried when he said that!!

We also have been getting a lot of swimming and playing done.  I play baseball on a t-ball team with my cousins Pratt and Milam, who are six like me. They are twins, and they look just alike!  We did pretty good, but we lost the big game when I hit a line drive to the pitcher, who caught the ball and threw me out at first base.  I was so mad I cried right in front of everyone!!

The weather here has been very hot.  I'm ready for the fall to come; I am sick of the heat!  I want to be able to sleep in my bed without fighing with my brother and sister, to see who gets to sleep nearest the fan, where it's the coolest.  I usually end up getting knocked out of bed or end up in Mama and Daddy's bed, because I can't stand their wiggling around so much! 

I like sleeping with Mama and Daddy:  they have a nice, big air conditioner in their room, and it is right cool in there; feels almost like Alaska!  It's great!

I also like sleeping with them when a big ol' nasty thunderstorm blows up.  I hate thunder and lightning anyway, but I hate it worse at night, especially when it wakes me up from a nice sleep!  That way, they can hold and comfort me and tell me that everything is gonna be okay.

Well, I gotta help Mama shell peas again, so I will go.  I will write in here again, hopefully before school starts back up.  Until later, this is Colton Blaze saying so long and God bless!
