It's been a difficult week.

Dear God

Have you a moment? I mean just a few moments with me? Yes, I know I have not been your greatest fan but as I approach my 60th birthday I just wanted to say to you a few words.

It's been a difficult week for you God. It seems that you did not create the big Bang. So the jury is out as to how it all came about. Well, no use me spending much time on that one.

But thanks for seeing me through my troubled youth. Indeed the care and attention the surgeons gave me to survive an operation at birth was some undertaking. Pyloric Stenosis they called it then. Many thanks for all the skills of the surgeons. Then you'll remember when I was abused. Boy did I not cry to you then? I really felt you around in those dark days. I never asked why it happened but felt your supportive hand. Thanks.

Then I had that dreadeful car crash in Ghana. They thought I was dead. So did I  but you were not ready for me. That showed me how you are active everywhere. Great doctors and nurses in Ghana working with your love and inspiration.

Then you tricked me God. You made me love Jocelyn who was an Anglican. But in your good sense of time I realised that you were God of Mankind and I found a new horizon. And thanks for leading me to her. Yes, we've been married for 33 or is it 34 years now. But you know that don't you?

And you gave us two wonderful daughters. Eternally grateful for Fiona and Laura. Thanks again.

So you have certainly been around my journey in life. I am sorry I don't always think of you. There is so much to worry about these days. But I guess that's what you are good at. Keeping our path on the rails. I really do give you hassel.

Well sorry I dont write to you often God. I seem to have lost your address but if I post this I guess you'll find it. Perhaps you might even answer. I'll keep an eye out.

Getting late now, mind if I switch off and head for bed?
