I think I have seen more than enough rain.  And more is on the way.  *Sigh*

Flash flood watches and warnings all over the place; many roads becoming impassable due to high waters that continue to rise and people are being evacuated from their homes in parts of the DFW metroplex.  (I live in Mineral Wells, just west of the DFW area.)

All of this started early yesterday morning when thunder and lightning announced their arrival.  HelLO, Hermine!!  It's been raining buckets ever since, and now that we have a chance to dry out, it's DFW's turn to get soaked.  Some areas have gotten over 7-8" of rain, and it still pours down.  We even had the tornado sirens go off a few times when funnels and a few brief tornadoes were sighted.  (When they did, I grabbed the kids and my husband and headed to the downstairs bathroom, where I threw everyone into the tub and covered ourselves with blankets.)

The kids obviously cannot go outside, sa the ground is beyond saturated.  They have been fighting off and on just about all morning, and Jeff and I are more than ready to bump their heads together!  They are just going to have to find ways to entertain themselves until this weather breaks (due to break sometime this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service).

I know tropical systems put down buckets of rain, but this was a little past ridiculous!  Some schools have been cancelled because of the flooded raads, and I am sure there are people being rescued after driving into floodwaters, even after all the warnings given by law officials or local meterologists.  They just don't listen, or else they just don't even care.  Sad.

School here was cancelled, but maybe I think they were a little quick to judge; the rains have all but ended (but what's to say that more won't form??).  I even see blue in the skies, yet the majority of it is covered by thick, low, grey clouds that continue to head north/northwest.  To the east the skies are black, really manacing looking.

I pray those in the path of these rain bands are taking any and all precautions to stay safe or to move to higher ground if the water continues to rise. 

Well, the phone is ringing; I'd best answer it.  I'd also best deal with the kids; it won't be long before a full-scale argument breaks out.  Just keep our area (and us) in your prayers; pray we get through this without additional problems! We'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance!
