I know something's up ...

I see it by the way that mami and papi look at one another and act all "hush-hush" whnever we kids come into the room.  I also see it by the way they change the subject and act like everything is all hunky-dory when we tend to know otherwise.

That really bugs the snot out of me.  I mean, why should parents lie to their kids when they tell us not do it??  I don't think that is very fair, if you ask me!

All sorts of bad thoughts keep creeping into my mind, among them being the following:

* Are our parents going to get divorced?  If so, what is going to happen to us, and who is going to take care of us?  Where are we going to end up living?  With mami? Papi?  Or even Abuela and Abuelo?

* Are they thinking of putting our older sister, Kieylah, in a home for handicapped children because they can no longer deal with her special needs?

* Does one of them have a nasty, fatal disease like cancer or Lou Gehrig's disease, and they don't want to tell us about it?

* Did one of them lose their job, or are we going to become homeless?  Are they having trouble paying the bills?

We are trying to be good by minding mami and papi, but dang, it's so hard whenever they act like this, all mysterious and secretive!  I just wish they'd open up and tell us exactly what is going on!!
