Gaston continues to be a source of neverending delight and entertainment to me, my husband, and our children.
We have a Chinese Crested dog whom we got last year. We named him "Gaston" because to us he looks like a little bald old man. He is rather ugly to a lot of people, but we think he is adorable. He's grown on all of us.
Gaston continues to enjoy good health, We are very glad of this, but if we can keep him out of Killa's way, then we'd have it made. Killa is a 30-pound Maine Coon cat who would love to eat Gaston for lunch: he cannot stand him! Killa lives right next door, so whenever we see Killa outside, we try out best to keep our dog out of his way, or else there's likely to be bloodshed.
Tyffani and Robert, our children, adore Gaston as much as my husband and myself. They sometimes argue as to whose turn it is to feed/water him or take him outside, so he can do his business or check his pee-mail. They also make sure he gets plenty of exercise (or if it is hot, as it often is here in Texas) or to stay out of the blazing sun, so he doesn't get heatstroke or sunstroke (or any other health problems).
We don't know if we will get a playmate for Gaston or not. He's rather fragile, and we don't want to risk injury to him, especially if his "playmate" happens to be bigger than Gaston. Gaston weighs just a few scant pounds (4 pounds), and he is so delicate in build. A larger dog or cat (like Killa, for instance) can easily overpower him and possibly injure him severely or (God forbid!) kill him.
We could get a dog like a Pomeranian or a Chihuahua to hang around with Gaston, but we are not going to take any chances this time. We will wait until all this drama with Killa-The-Maine Coon Cat is overwith and done first.
I am sure that Dr. Tyler, our veterinarian, is tired of patching up our baby, but he is very supportive of our pet, and he would do anything to take his pain or suffering away, which we greatly appreciate. His word of advice for us is the same time and time again: "Make sure he stays away from Killa!"
Well, Gaston is acting like he wants to go out again, so I'd best go and make sure that Killa doesn't get a hold of him and shake him like a rag doll. That would NOT be good AT all! Until later, this is Wendy Snow saying so long and God bless; thanks for listening to my story!
