Greetings from Norway!
Hard to believe it's September already ... last time I wrote it ws in the spring or summer. Where does the time go so quickly??
Maikken Volkenstaad here. Hope this finds you well. I have my good days as well as my bad; now that the colder weather is on the way, it won't be long before my arthrtis locks my joints and then I will have to resort to using my electric scooter to get around. I don't mind the cold, but it's hard on my body; I prefer the sunny, long days of summer!
My family is doing well. Lunt and Maija have recovered from their accidents; they are back to living happy, healthy normal lives. And Lunt didn't kill the cat when he fell on him. LOL (Poor cat!)
My daughters and their children are doing well too, but Erica has the flu. She is in bed, too sick to go to work. She got sick the other day, and she went to the doctor's, where he gave her some flu medication and told her to stay in bed and rest until she recovers.
It won't be long before the first snowflakes start flying. The aurorae have been busy, lighting up the nighttime skies like day and surprising unsuspecting people who don't know about the aurora borealis! I enjoy watching the northern lights; I just wish we could see them all year long! I could watch them dancing in our skies for hours!
The doctor has informed me that I have three kinds of arthritis: rheumatoid in my fingers and feet, as well as in my elbows and wrists, osteoarthritis in my spine, and a third kind in my neck. So basically, I am one pain unit; I hurt from neck on down! It is not fun having to live like this; I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy!!
I might have to eventually quit my job and apply for disability pay. I don't want it to come to this; I have enjoyed working for Eisner Wagendorf; he's been a wonderful boss who knows his duties inside out and backwards!
Well, I am on break as I write this; I have to get back to my duties. I will write in here again soon; sorry it's not that interesting, but my life, as a whole, is incredibly boring!
