Hi! Charlie Marie Winslow here.
I am doing good. Can't sleep, so I want to write now.
I fell yesterday. Hurt my shoulder and gave myself a black eye. Looks like someone beat me up. Sore all over.
Mommy and daddy both say I should use both my crutches when I walk. Maybe I should, but I thought I did well on just one. They say my balance isn't that good (and it isn't, which is one reason I fall sometimes).
My sissie, Abbagale, has been home now for a month from the hospital. I am so glad to see her; she loves to play with me, and she treats me real good. It is sad, though, to see her without any legs. She lost her legs in the war, y'know. Maybe she can get new ones, and then she will be able to walk and do more things instead of stay in bed or use her wheelchair.
Fall is here. That means soon it will be Hallowe'en. Maybe I will dress up this year as a witch. I go tricks-and-treats every year; I love getting candy and seeing my neighbors and my friends! It will also be time for Thanksgiving, and we can have turkey and watch the parade on the telly!
Then after that: Santa Claus and Christmas! Maybe I will tell him to bring me new dolls or clothes for Chrissie; I am trying to be a very good girl.
I am sad to see the summer go. I like going places, and I like the sunny, hot weather. I don't like the winter because it's hard for me to get around on my crutches, and sometimes I fall on the snow or ice. And now my sister is going to have a hard time trying to get around in her chair.
It's not gonna be very fun!
Well, I'd best get some sleep before I get up to go to work. I will write in here again soon. Until then, this is Charlie Marie Winslow saying bye-bye! God bless you!
~Love, your friend, Charlie. :)
