Some boys gather every day after school to play some tackle football.

Name's Turk.  Actually, it's really Raymond, but my friends call me Turk.  As in "Turkey".

I am 11 years old.

I'm a fairly average kid: not too big, not too little, with nondescript brown hair that flops over light blue eyes, some frackles on my nose and cheeks: nothing really special about me.

If there is one thing that does stand out about me, it's this: I am crazy in love over football.  Always have been, always will be, I guess.  Every day, after school, me and my friends gather at my house, in my backyard, where we have our games.  Sometimes we end up with bruises or other assorted injuries, but that's because we play rough.  We love the sting of the pigskin when it slaps into our open palms, and we love the bone-jarring feel of when someone performs a good tackle.  It's all part of the Game called Football.

Besides me, there's Tank Goodman, Rabid Randy Rogers, Eagle-Eye Ethan Cassidy, Brute Mason, Touchdown Tommy Daniels, Troy 'Aikman' Perry, Crazy Legs Shavonte' Johnson, Colte 'Da Bomb' Eskery, Brick Ramirez, and Pummelin' Pavel Czernznik..  We all live, breathe, dream football; football is probably our first love, as you can see.  Since I am the team leader, I am the one who christened our team: The Gobblers.  Since I'm Turk, I thought it would be a good name for our outfit.  Turk and "The Gobblers".  Has a nice ring to it, huh?

When the weather is nice, we play after we've done our homework; if the weather is lousy, we stay holed up in our rooms (or at each other's houses), watching the All NFL channel, learning all the latest football tricks that the prose use to ensure victory for their teams.  We pay close attention to what they do and digest it like this morning's breakfast.

Then we get together and have our football contests in the backyard.  Sometimes the neighborhood kids come and watch; when they get especially loud and boisterous in their cheering, we feel like we're in the Super Bowl; it's exciting, thrilling, and downright fun!!

Well, I gotta run.  School, y'know.  After school, you will probably find me and the gang in my backyard, amidst all the bright fall foilage, just dukin' it out and havin' us a mean game of football, Turk-style!  I will write in here again; until later, this is Raymond "Turk" Anderson saying so long!  Time to mosey outta here!

*Turk*.

I just came across this fun and heartwarming story about a kid named Turk and his crew, "The Gobblers." It's a refreshing read that takes you right back to your own backyard football games as a kid. Turk’s love for football, and the camaraderie he shares with his friends, is infectious. You can really feel the energy and excitement of every game they play, and it's clear these kids are passionate about the sport.
One thing that stood out to me was how much they learn from watching professional NFL games. Their dedication to studying plays and perfecting their skills mirrors the passion many of us share for the sport. It’s a great reminder of how football can bring friends together, no matter your age.
If you're like Turk and love to follow every NFL moment, especially the live games, you might want to check out Streaming NFL Games for easy ways to watch live NFL streams https://nfl.footybite.to/ and stay connected to the action, no matter where you are. It's the perfect way to keep up with the pros while practicing your moves in the backyard!
Overall, this is a great, relatable read for young football fans. It captures the fun and thrill of the game in a way that makes you want to grab a ball and head to the field.

I have a feeling that future episodes will fill us in on each member of the team. I am impressed by your creative names for each one. You probably could think up good ones for a whole team! I enjoyed meeting Turk. I can see he's a leader, since the team was named by him. Go, Gobblers!
Love,
Connie
