Dear Journal~

A very busy Louisiana Sandusky writing.  Have been runnin' around like a chicken with its head cut off: things to do, including make jack-o-lantern cookies, do the last two loads of laundry, put them into the dryers when they're done with the cycle, try to keep nosy little fingers out of the freshly baked cookies, make sure we have the kids' costumes ready to go into the van for when we run to the church tonight for last minute preparations, make supper (tonight it is taco night with guacamole salad, tomatoes, and cucumbers, and peach cobbler for dessert), and put the dishes into the dishwasher when we are through rinsing them off.

*Sigh* A mamma's work is never done ...

Tomorrow, for church, we have our two usual morning services at nine and again at 11; then we will feed the congregation, and stick around the church all day until the festivities start going off at six o'clock sharp (the festival runs until ten p.m.). 

There will be a teen car smash, live music, hayrides, rides for the kids (and the young-at-heart), face painting, games/contests, a "best-costume" contest, a costume contest for pets, a "dunk-the-pastor" booth, where people get to throw balls to see if they can dunk the pastors, a second "dinner-on-the-grounds", and raffle tickets for free giveaways, among other things.  There will be a lot of activities for people of all ages going on. 

It is going to be wall-to-wall craziness, and we are going to do it all for the love of Jesus Christ and for us to have the opportunity to spread the word and minister to people about Him.

The weather promises to be delightful: temperatures in the upper seventies before the next cool front blows in on Monday, knocking the temperatures down into the mid to upper sixties with stiff north winds.

Not a chance of rain to be had in the forecast: just wall-to-wall sunshine.  It is going to be perfect for our Fall Festival!  And I know people who haven't been to our church yet since the grand reopening will be amazed at the revnovation our church had due to the damage from the floods we had back at the beginning of May!

Our family has been well: no sickies or no unpleasant surprises other than the normal aches/pains, sniffles (allergies), coughs, seizures, et. al.  Nothing life threatening, thank God, but these surprises I can do without!  Don't need anybody to get sick, especially since our Fall Festival is only one day away!!

We are getting the house ready for when our kids who are out of state (plus the grandkids) come for Thanksgiving. We will then go to the Golden Corral on Thanksgiving Day and watch football when we get back home.  We will then go to bed, so we can be up before the crack of dawn on Black Friday, so we can be at the stores when the sales start in earnest.  With a zoo like mine, one needs to take every opportunity to save as many bucks as possible!!

Poor Bill will be at the store, only he will be working.  He hates Black Friday.  I know many people who do; it is the busiest shopping day of the whole year, and things can get wild!!

Then we have the two babies, our twin sons, Ian and Isaiah, who are turning three on the 22nd of November.  Hard to believe that they were born only three short years ago.  Now they're walking and talking, and getting into all sorts of mischief, such as when Isaiah and Ian got into the cookies and Ian got sicker than a dog because he'd eaten a whole bag (plus the half of another)!  It was not fun!!  I had two very sick young boys to tend to all that night!!

Well, I have to put the clothes into the dryers and do my other chores before I make supper and leave for church.  I will write in here again in a few weeks or so; until later, this is Louisiana Sandusky saying so long! God bless you always!
