My dog is a crazy conglomoration of breeds: terrier.  Blue heeler.  Catahoula.  Pomeranian.  Even some Labrador retriever in him.  We call him "Spuddy".

Even what for what he might lack in the looks department, "Spuddy" is as good as they come.  Loyal.  Very loving.  A gentle personality.  Intelligent.  Playful.  Loves to be around people or have the attention focused on him.  We got "Spuddy" from the local animal shelter about a year ago when my prior dog, a Pomeranian named "Barkus", died after being hit by a car.  It was a very bad time for all of us, but for me especially since "Barky", as I called him, was my dog.

Mom and pop both knew I was beside myself with grief over the loss of "Barkus", so they took me to get a new dog.  While "Spuddy" will never replace the happy memories I have of "Barky", he is as fun as my old dog was, just a little more quiet in nature is all. Otherwise, other than his size and his obvious mixed heritage, he is just like "Barky".

He has the blue eyes of the Louisiana Catahoula Dog, he looks more terrier than anything else, but he does have a Pomeranian's style tail: it hangs up high on his back.  He is a very goofy dog with a matching expression on his face.  "Spuddy" is a neat dog, and I love him very, very much.

Whenever we go out, I make sure I have "Spuddy" firmly leashed: I already have lost one dog; I don't want to lose another, since it's only been less than a year since "Barky" was killed; the memories are still pretty fresh in my head.

Most people like my dog.  I can't say that I blame them: I happen to like him pretty swell myself. 

So what if my dog is a mutt instead of a purebred like "Barky" was.  I don't see anything wrong with that at all.  As long as he has a good personality and doesn't act all mean and surly towards others, then he's okay in my book.  He's the best dog I've had since losing "Barkus", and I will do anything possible to make him happy!  He's the greatest!
