Fluffy is my twenty five pound Ragdoll cat. She can be quite intimidating because she is so big, but don't let her hugeness fool you: she can charm the socks off of even the most stodgy, the most annoying of people.
All she has to do is turn on her purr-machine, and people are instantly turned to jelly.
Fluffy is also a very good watchcat. Yes, watchcat. When we are at work, she will walk around the premises, looking for potential trouble. If something is amiss, she will jump upon the counter (or upon the couch), look out the window, and survey her territory, as only cats can. She will then start growling in her creamy silken throat, her intense blue eyes narrowed, and start swishing her bushy, chocolate-brown tail in irritation.
Lord help those who try to break in. Fluffy is usually as sweet as they come, but if someone intentionally tries to break in, she will run to the door, yowling loudly, eyes turned to marbles (to where very little of the blue coloration is showing; it's mostly black pupils), whiskers stuck straight out, ears laid flat against her head, whopping her tail wildly back and forth.
One time that happened. Someone tried to break in. One minute the guy was on his way to my bedroom (to rob me of my jewelry, I suppose); the next, he was screaming like a girl. Fluffy, our Ragdoll, was attached to his upper leg, her teeth latched onto his private area. The guy was clearly in severe pain. She was clamping down with every bit of her kitty strength. The poor man was begging me to get the cat off his leg; he begged us to call the cops, just so that the cat could leave him alone.
The guy is now in jail for breaking and entering and attempted robbery.
And Fluffy is our hero. She was featured on the news and even got a medal for her bravery in a desprate situation.
So now Fluffy is a hero in a feline body. She saved my life, and to boot, she saved our home from potential robbery. It was a very terrifying situation, but Fluffy, bless her furry little heart, knew exactly what to do. She saw that her family was in danger, so she acted accordingly.
I owe Fluffy my very life. If it were not for her, I would not even be here, and I would be missing the jewelry that my mother gave to me before she died.
God bless Fluffy!!
