Dear Journal~
Howdy! It's your (sick) friend, Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux, writing.
I still don't feel great, but all I can do is stay in bed and get as much rest as possible as I try to beat this cold that's invaded my system. I am tired of staying in bed. I am tired of sleeping. I am tired of having everyone wait on me. I am tired of missing work. I'm not gonna make any money by staying home!
Yet it's doctor's orders. I went to see my pediatrician on Monday, and he was the one who told me I need to stay in bed. So here I am. BAH the humbug! I just hope I'm over this crapola by Christmas/my birthday!!
That would be a major bummer if I was still sick on Christmas Day/my birthday!! That would be the WORST!!
I started with this on Saturday. I knew right then I wasn't going to sing on Sunday. By Sunday morning, I sounded more like a croaking bullfrog; I couldn't hit the high notes of "O, Holy Night" if I tried. Therefore, I had to miss the Cantata. I hear it was beautiful. Brittany Popejoy, my "understudy", took my place in singing "O, Holy Night", and maman and daddy said she did a wonderful job in singing. Well, bully for her. I'm glad for her! I just wish I were the one who was singing! :(
Maybe by next Friday (the 24th), I will be better. I am scheduled to sing again; our church is having another Cantata (the same one they had on Sunday). So maybe "O, Holy Night" will be ringing out during the church services. I can only hope; I absolutely LOVE to sing!!
People know this. I don't need to tell them that. It's just that singing is my life; it's all I've done since I was a little bitty girl, and I still want to make music my chosen career. If not, I want to be a professional author and write inspirational-themed children's books. In case my music career doesn't pan out, I can always become a writer. And I love to do both.
I also have responsibilities. Like getting ready to go to college in Louisiana in the middle of next month. I am getting excited about it, but at the same time, I'm terrified at the thought of moving away from my family and moving to a new state. What if something happens to them? Or me? What would I do then?? I couldn't bear the thought of moving away and have something terrible happen to my family; I love them all too much!!
Every time I think about this, I start crying. I hate it! I know I shouldn't be such a worrywart, but the truth is, I am. I take after my mommy. I'm just like her in temperament and personality. Daddy sometimes calls me "Mini-Me", meaning that I'm just like my mom! LOL
In the meantime, all I have been doing for the past three/four days is sneezing/snotting everywhere, and my nose alternates between being stuffed up to running like a Russian racehorse, plus my voice is way down here, in the basement; if I were to sing, I'd be singing the bass part. I couldn't sing soprano if my life depended on it. I really sound terrible! So, in addition to resting everything else, I have to rest my voice, too.
Bummer!
Well, I am going to go to sleep. Seems I have nothing better to do. I will write in here again soon; just pray that I am over this by next weekend!! I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance; I really could use a miracle touch from God about now ...
~Love, your friend in Tennessee, Ronee' Le-Anne. :(
