Dear Diary~

Merry day before Christmas!! That's right: it's Christmas Eve! Hard to believe that Christmas is nearly here; seems like only yesterday when school started!

I'm glad school is closed for two and a half weeks; the kids have really been giving me a hard time about my CP.  I'm sorry; I can't help how I am!  I'd like for them to spend one day, no, one WEEK, in a wheelchair; then they wouldn't think it was so big of them to tease me like they do!!

They could stand to use a little compassion!!

Daddy still hasn't heard from the disability people, to see if he will be able to get SSDI.  It's very frustrating.  He's been really depressed; he's been wanting to go back to work, but since the accident, he can't.  He's had a lot of trouble with getting around (he has been using a cane, and he's always in pain).

Mama, meanwhile, has had to pick up the slack.  She takes care of us, the kids, and of daddy, and she's been trying to find a part time job, just to bring in some extra money for our family.  With Christmas it's been hard.  We won't have as good of a Christmas as in years past, but mama has reassured us that we will have at least a LITTLE bit of Christmas.  I guess that's better than nothing!

Erinn and Abigayle (they're 11 and 13) have been fighting a lot; guess the stress of Christmas is getting to them as well.  They've really never gotten along; mama and daddy are both more than ready to clonk their heads together if they don't quit it!

Clark is due home later today; I can't wait to see him!!  He left yesterday afternoon to drive here; he should be coming any time now.  We have been looking out the window to see if we can see his car pulling in our driveway, but so far nothing.  I hope he is okay; I don't want him to get in a wreck ... having one disabled family member is enough; we certainly don't need another one!!

It is cold and snowy out; I am tired of being inside.  I want to go out, but because of my CP and the fact that I'm in a wheelchair, I can't.  Therefore, I have had to stay in and help mama with the baking and getting the house in order.  It's a pain, especially when I see Abi and Erinn playing with the new WII game system that Uncle Toderick got them for Christmas (it's mine too, but they won't let me play with it, which really annoys me)!

Well, I am gonna go.  Mama wants me to help frost and ice the cookies; they just come out of the oven, and they smell awesome!!  She made gingerbread men and women, and it's all I can do to keep from snitching one!  LOL  Until later, this is Chloe Greathouse saying Merry Christmas from my house to yours!  Make it a good one! Oh!   Happy New Year, too!

~Love, Chloe.  :)
