Dear Diary~

God, I hope that the coming year is a lot better than 2010 was for my family and myself ... I can only hope ...

Mama is still not working, but on Monday, she has a job interview with a law firm.  She wants to work for a lawyer.  Until this happened, she had been working menial, part time jobs, anything to put bread/food on the table and to pay the bills, but she quit 'cause her employers were treatin' her badly.

Daddy is still waiting on his SSDI.  He is still in a lot of pain and discomfort.  He can walk, but it's very painful; he uses a pair of crutches to help take the strain off his back and pinched nerves in his legs.  He has sciatica; he says it's akin to someone pouring hot, burning oil down the nerves of both legs.  I can tell he's hurting, and it makes me feel bad because there's nothing anyone can really do to relieve his suffering.

Hopefully we will hear something from the SSDI people soon, so daddy can get the money he so rightfully deserves!

I get SSDI myself, even though I am only a kid.  Have gotten it for years; mama puts it in my savings account.  I am saving it for college, which is in a few years.  I'd like to go to college to become a writer of children's books, or books for teenagers like myself.

That is my goal in life.  I think writing in this journal is good practice.  I want to prove the stupid people wrong, the people who say I'm never gonna amount to anything or call me stupid/retarded!!  I'm sorry; I'm anything BUT retarded!! I may have learning problems, but I am definitely NOT retarded!!!!

Anyway, we ended up having Christmas after all.  Some kind people from church brought us a food basket (turkey and all the trimmin's), and they also brought presents for us.  Erinn and Abigayle (my two little sisters) got new clothes, plus Abigayle got an Ipod and Erinn got some Nancy Drew books (she LOVES Nancy Drew!!).  Daddy and mama got some money, and they were so happy they cried.  Now we can get to the grocery store and get some needed food: our 'fridge and cupboards are lookin' mighty bare ...

It's been an answer to prayer!!  Suddenly I find myself wanting to believe in God more; lately, I've been thinking about turning pagan or Buddhist or something 'cause up to now God's been nothing but a major disappointment in my life.

Of course, I am still stuck in the house, due to all the snows we've had recently.  I am starting to go stir-crazy from being trapped in the house with my sisters!!  Auggghhh!!  LOL  I get jealous of Erinn and Abi 'cause they can get out while I can't, as I'm in a wheelchair.  It's a pain in the butt!!

For New Year's Eve (tonight), we plan on watching old Guy Lombardo reruns and drink ginger ale (the kids) while daddy and mama have a glass (or two) of "bubbly".  We really don't go anywhere for New Year's Eve.  Or maybe we'll watch some of the New Years Eve celebrations being broadcast on the national news channel (Fox).  They say they have a mammoth fireworks display in Sydney, Australia, and it looks like the bridge there is on fire.  I'd like to see that; think that would be mighty cool! :)

Well, I am going to run (that is, IF I could run ... LOL).  I am gonna go back to bed; it's too danged early to be up; I'm up with the chickens!!  LOL  I will write in here again; until later, take care, and hope 2011 is you best year EVER!! I certainly hope it is a good year for us! After 2010, we NEED a good year!!!!  God bless!

~Love, Chloe.  :)
