Copper Morgan updates us on her life in the hills of Eastern Tennessee, where she lives with her family.

January 4, 2011, Sevierville, Tennessee~

Dear Journal~

Copper Morgan here.  I am sorry I haven't written; life has been busy for our family.  Now that the Christmas (and New Year's) holidays are just about over, maybe I can finally get some breathin' room and spend some time relaxin' and writin' in my diary/journal.

I am now thirteen years old. Yep.  I'm a teenager now.  I'm no longer the little brat kid I was; am now pushin' five feet tall, and I hit puberty with both feet.  Got the big feet, the zits, and the big chest to prove that claim.  Am not happy with what's happened with my body, 'cause it means that the carefree, halycon days of childhood have long since passed.  They're history; I'm now becomin' a young woman.

I'm in junior hish school now.  Eigth grade.  I hate it.  The boys, they think of only one thing (S-E-X!!), and they are so immature it isn't even funny!  They pick on me about my chest and my zits; I hate them so bad!  And the teachers are so stupid.  Some of them are so bad they should not be teaching us kids!  One (Mr. Richter) can't spell his way out of a paper bag, and the music director (Mr. Hollister) is tone deaf.  What in the world is up with that???  I bet if he sang in front of my dawg, "Rebel Yell" would howl and beg for him to stop!  He's horrible!!

I wish we were still on Christmas break.  That way, I don't have to put up with all the shit that's been going down at school!  Yet then I would have to put up with the brats (my little brother C.J. [Cassidy-Jack; he's four), and my three triplet sisters (Cinthia, Camillia, and Cinnamon); they're seven.  They're allus gettin' into some sort of mischief, and they're allus tryin' to get me into trouble!  It's really a pain!!

We had a good Christmas, though, even despite the shenigans of the Brat Brigade.  I got an mp3 player, an Ipod, a WII game system (that was my big gift; I about died when I saw that!!), new clothes, purties for my hair, make-up, a new mirror, new shoes and unmentionables, perfume (Winter Berry; it smells so heavenly!), and some writing paper for when I do my writing (I write stories all the time).  I also got a laptop computer (that was my other big gift; that was from my uncle Popeye, who lives in Charleston, West Virginia).  I guess y'all can say I made a good haul! :)

I'll tell you this much: the Brats better stay out of my things, or else there's gonna be some murderin' going on!!  And then I will risk going to jail 'cause I did my family in!

My twin older brothers (Calvin and Cameron; they're now 15) have gotten to be taller than daddy: they both are well over six and a half feet; in fact, the doctor says that they will probably be pushin' 7' tall by the time their growin' period is done.  I got taller too (I'm now as tall as mama), but I will probably be five-three or five-four by the time all of this growing is said and done.

Mama and daddy are always remindin' us kids that even though some of us are taller than they are, they are still the parents, and they alus say to us, "We brought y'all into this world; we can take y'all out, too".  No problem.  Y'all DON'T dare argue with mama or daddy: they are the parents; we are only their children, and when they speak, we'd BEST listen, and listen GOOD!!

Well, it's about time for me to go to my next-to-the-last class of the day, which is Music.  Good.  My favorite class of all!!  I just hope that Mr. Hollister is not there; he's so stupid! I love the class; I just don't like HIM!! I wish we had a lady teacher who could sing and direct the choir, 'cause Mr. H is ruinin' us!!  He jsut needs to go to Siberia, maybe sing to the polar bears and penguins there!  Take care; this is Copper signin'off!  God bless; talk to y'all later!

~Love, your friend in Tennessee, Copper Penny.  :)
