This is Ronee', and I am afraid I am NOT doing all that well.
You see, I am in the hospital, recovering from yet another blasted "flare"; it seems that my arthritis decided to act up again, and I am *NOT AMUSED*!! It seems that these "flares" happen at the least inopportune and unexpected times!!
I went into the hospital just this past Sunday night, after church, and Monday and yesterday, all I did was SLEEP!! The medications they gave me helped the pain (SOMEWHAT), but they also knocked me for a loop; and I got all goofy; and all I wanted to do was SLEEP!!!! So I did!!
Today, Wednesday, I AM feeling a *LITTLE BETTER* (although not much; still, the therapy I've been getting the past several days is STARTING to make a difference!)! The pain is still pretty bad, but at least it is STARTING to become a LITTLE bit more tolerable and managable!! At least I can move halfway decent without wanting to throw up....
YUCK. I HATE to throw up; to me, that is the WORST feeling in the world!!
This whole mess started Sunday morning, but then, the pain wasn't bad!! It only got worse as the day wore on, and by that night, I was in so much pain I couldn't walk on my crutches, and I felt sicker than I had in a long time. I had nausea, a stomach ache from hell, a fever, a rash, and chest pains; my lungs hurt, and it was hard for me to breathe. Maman saw me, and she knew just by looking that I was pretty sick; and so she took me to the emergency room, where I was then examined and admitted to the pediatric floor. I've been here since. While here, I have been getting powerful medications that make me sleep or see weird things, and I have been getting physical and occupational therapy for my joints; and it's been a long and painful struggle; but things are FINALLY starting to ease up for me!
But it will be a couple more days before Dr. Hanson (she's my joint doctor; she's been my doctor ever since I got this darned arthritis) will let me go home. She says I am not well enough yet to go home. So, until then, I will have to stay here in the hospital
and endure more therapy and medications until my fever goes down some more and until my body isn't screaming at me so much.
Now you know how I am doing. 'Bye; gotta' get ready to go to the whirlpool; that ALWAYS feels SO NICE on my achy breaky joints!! I ALWAYS look forward to time in the whirlpool!! :)
This second book in Edie's 'Puddle' series is filled with wonderful catchy rhyming poems that have positive nostalgic messages. Her whimsical illustrations carry the poems along on ripples of warm vibrant colours.
