Garrett Alfonso Gomez is my name, but most people know me as "Slam".  I am 12 years old.  I live with my mami and two younger sisters in Baltimore, Maryland.  I've lived here all my life: I was born here.

My papi died when I was two, so I don't really know him, excepting in pictures.  Mami says I look a lot like him.  When I see the pictures and look at myself in the mirror, I can see where she is coming from.  (Papi died in a hunting accident.  I don't know any more details than that; mami won't talk about it.)

My sisters are named Araceli Graciela and Teresa (Teresita) Maria.  They are ten and six.  I get along with Araceli better than Teresita; Teresita is spoiled rotten, and she's always in my things.  She also loves to annoy me.

Mami remarried; that makes Teresita my step-sister.  My step-dad is named Jose Gomez; he is a truck driver, so he's only home on weekends ... that is, if he isn't driving out of state.  He drives all over the east coast, and he is very good at what he does.  He drives a big rig, delivering medical supplies to hospitals.  I miss him when he isn't here.

I like to do a lot of things.  I mainly love baseball (more on that in a bit), but I also love to dance, sing, draw, write poems or stories (mainly horror), watch tv (I like BuffyThe Vampire Slayer and Ghosthunters, as well as CSI the best), and read.  I also love to hang out with my friends and go skateboarding at the local skate park not too far from where we live. 

My main psssion is, however, baseball.  I've played baseball ever since I can remember.  I have played on a Little League team since I was six.  This year I play on a team called "The Rough Riders".  I play shortstop and pinch hit.  Last year our team sucked big time; I wanted nothing more than to defect from "The Rough Riders" and join our rival, "The Sharks".  They beat us bad whenever we played them!  There was nothing "rough" about our team!! LOL We were more like "The Wimpy Riders"!  LOL

The team I'm on has players of all ages, and there is one girl on the team (she is a force to be reckoned with).  We range in age from six on up to sixteen, and there are all skill levels represented.  I'm one of the better players.  Sorry to brag, but the truth is this: I AM! :)

I hope we have a better season this year.  It can't be any worse like it was last year!  Last year was HORRIBLE!!!!

Well, I gotta go.  It's time for lunch (my favorite part of the day!! YUM!! :D).  I hope we have something good today; lately the lunches have sucked.  I will write in here again another day; until later, this is "Slam" Gomez signing off!  Bye for now!
