Name's Kenny Deutchman (pronounced Doitch-mun); I am 12 years old, and I live with my family here in Baltimore, Maryland. Have lived here all my life; it's home to me.
I have two sisters named Kelsie (14) and Roseanne (10), and a brother, Wyatt Ethan, who is just two. I have my mom and dad and my grandpa. My grandpa moved in with us after grandma (his wife) died; she had ALS and suffered horribly the last year of her life. She went from an energetic, capable woman to one who was trapped in her body and had to have everything done for her. It was really heartbreaking; I was never so glad when she died because that meant her long road to suffering had finally come to a merciful end.
I like to do many things, among them being on the Rough Riders Little League team; we play every spring and summer. I have been involved in Little League baseball since I was small; I really enjoy it and have made many wonderful friends. On the team, I can play any position, but my forte' is pinch hitting and fielding pitches. In addition, I can pitch if the situation calls for it. I am very good at what I do, if I do say so myself.
NOT bragging here, folks; it's the gospel truth. That's what people say all the time about me.
Besides baseball, I like to skateboard, boogie board, swim, body surf, ski (water and snow), snowboard, play football, soccer, and basketball (I am very much into exercise; I'm in impeccable shape), and hang out with my friends, as well as read, write, and watch baseball, football, or basketball teams playing on the telly. I love to play video games or play on the computer once in a while. (Like now; I am doing this as part of an assignment; English teacher wants to write a short essay about ourselves and our lives.)
In addition to the above activities, I also like to play music. I play the clarinet, French horn, and trumpet. I play by ear; music comes very easily to me. If I don't end up having a professional baseball career, I'd like to get involved in music somehow, either playing it or teaching it to children and teens, particularly those who are disabled.
I have a cousin, Michael, who is disabled. He is seven and is in a wheelchair; he cannot walk. He has spina bifida. He tried to walk on crutches, but it only ended up causing him more problems, so he had to go back to using his chair. (His bones are very brittle.) It is because of him that I would like to work with disabled children if I become a teacher or if I DO become a professional b-baller, I'd like to donate to charities that help children who have special needs, like my cousin does.
Well, I gotta go. Lunch is next. Already my tummy is rumbling up a storm. There's a regular supercell (long-lived thunderstorm that can last for hours) residing in there. LOL I will write in here again soon; until then, this is Knuckles (aka Kenny Deutchman) signing off! Take care; talk to you again!
~Knuckles. :)
I'm called Knuckles because I pitch a mean knuckle-ball. :)
