Look at that adorable little face and tell me you can't fall in love. In fact, I triple-dog-dare-you not to.
Every time I see her big, dark eyes, the pert erect little ears, her knowing "Pommer grin", and the saucy tail that rests on top of her back, I can't help but melt.
Regina-The-Pomeranian has been a part of my life for the past three years. She is a fun little one: nothing skips her keen eyesight or her sharp little mind. Regina is one of the smartest, happiest little dogs I have ever known.
Regina came into my life when my sister brought her to me, as a way of trying to cheer me up when my health took bad. It's been like a miracle cure because all of a sudden, I'm laughing or not thinking about doctors, hospitals, or yet another medical bill (or test). I'm actually responsible for another living creature, and she is my best friend. Nothing makes her happier than for me to spend time with her, whether it is playing with her, grooming her long, thick fur, watering/feeding her several times a day, or just having her sit on my lap to keep me company.
Regina is a solid-black Pom, with blue-black fur. They aren't as common as the more familiar orange or red Pom. In fact, I've only seen maybe half a dozen black Poms in my life. When she is out in the sunlight, her fur just shines and it is an excellent conversation-starter. People ask me all the time where I got my dog or if she is a product of champion bloodlines. I tell them I got her from my sister; I have no clue who her parents are (or were). All that matters is that we have each other and that she brings me joy in the midst of pain/suffering.
I like to call her my "puppy-angel" because in reality, she is exactly that. She is one-of-a-kind, and I am so glad that fate brought us together! More than that, I am grateful for my sister to think of me in such a loving way! If it were not for my sister, I would have never gotten Regina, and my life would have been a lot sadder!
