     Britnee Rowlett continues her story.

Howdy!  It's your friend, Britnee Denise Rowlett,, writing!

Sorry if I've been lax in writing since my last journal entry; I'm just not that big on writing, not like my roommate, Ronee' Le-Anne Reaux, who is always taking pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard), it seems!

This journaling thing is a lot harder than it looks.  I'm always having to pull ideas from my brain, and I hate writing about myself.  I'm not that much ... nothing like Ronee', who is full of more surprises than a magician has tricks!  You never know what she can do ....

Like this past Monday, for instance.  We'd gone to the Lafayette Cajun Mardi Gras Celebration at LaPoussiere', which is a Cajun dance hall in nearby Breaux Bridge, and Ronee' brought her accordion with her.  Well, the singer there that night saw her, so what does he do, but pull her onto the stage, where he has her jam with him and his band.  Ronee' blew the roof off the joint; everyone was on their feet when she started performing!

It was AMAZING!!  You could tell she'd been playing a long time (and she has; Ronee' tells me she's played the Cajun accordion since she was like six years old, and most of what she's learned is self-taught!).  Well over ten years.  I couldn't play a tune out of a bucket if someone had paid me a million bucks; I am NOT musically inclined!

Singing, yes, but deffo not playing music!  I can't read music; I mainly sing along with the radio or with my CDs.

Anyway, there were these people dressed up in crazy get ups, and by the time it got late at night, some people were getting pretty well soused.  I kept having this one drunk buzzard asking me to dance; it was very embarrassing, especially since the poor guy couldn't stand up without falling over himself!

We didn't get home until 3 the next morning.  And I was nursing a hangaround to end all hangarounds.  Oh, was I ever SICK!!  (I'll never have another hurricane ever again!  Felt like I'd been hit with a Cat-13; Katrina had nothing on how I felt! LOL)

Michael, Ronee' 's boyfriend, didn't drink (he drove), and of course, Ronee' doesn't drink.  I was the bad seed of the outfit.  I acted like a goon!  If I don't go to another Cajun dance, it will be too soon; I am ashamed to show my face in public after the public spectacle I put on at LaPoussiere'!

After we got home, we all passed out; Ronee' didn't get up until 1 and Michael and I slept until 4.  Then Ronee' puts on Cajun music, and I was ready to murderlize her; my pounding head did NOT need to hear any more accordion-laced fiddle music!

I love Cajun music, don't get me wrong, but dang, after a while, a body can take only so much!  I think Ronee' is obsessed with it!!  LOL  She can never get enough!!

THEN she starts telling me who she has seen/played with, and I'm like, "Get a room!  Stop yer braggin'!"  I am jealous of her, though: she is so good at singing and playing music; she needs to be cutting records or playing on the national circuit as a headlining act in Cajun music!  She's that good!!

I'm serious as a heart attack!!

I swear by the time I'm done here I will start listening to strictly Cajun music!!  I ought to start dreaming it or farting Cajun music by the time I get ready to leave for Oklahoma!!  LOL

Well, Ronee' is ready to go to her next class, and she wants me to drive her there, as it's raining.  I will write in here again; until later, this is Britnee saying so long and God bless!

~Love, your friend, Britt.  :)
