Hola, mi amigos! Como esta usted?
It is your friend, Arturo Jiminez! I hope and trust y'all had a great Cinco De Mayo! Boy, I sure did: I even got to perform as part of the dance troupe I belong to. We do all the traditional Mexican dances; our troupe members range in age from 2 on up to 46. I'm somewhere in the middle. :) I have been dancing since I was 5. I have always loved to dance: maybe that is why I am so good at sports like basketball, futbol, baseball, or regular (American) football. I am very co-ordinated! :)
I had a blast at Cinco De Mayo. Cinco De Mayo is a huge, important holiday in Mexico and in the United States (Los Estados Unitos), where there are a lot of people of Latin heritage (like Texas, Arizona, and California, for example). We go every year to our city's annual bash, and for the past twelve years or so, I have been performing. I get such a kick out of it!
In addition to dancing in a ballet folklorico troupe, I also sing. I sing both conjunto (Mexican polka music that is heavy on the accordion; it is very lively music!) and mariachi (Mexican folk music). I love music very much! Always have, always will! :)
Mi madre y padre have been working at Golden Corral now for o year. They are both doing muy fantastico! Papi's English is coming along (he's been taking ESL classes at the local high school twice a week; he's been working very hard to improve), and Mami got another promotion: she's now assistant manager! I am very proud of mi parentes! :)
I am doing good, too, but I am looking forward to school ending next month (can you believe it????). Summer vacation sounds very good about now ... :) Am tired of crackin' the books or doing homework all the time!
At the Cinco De Mayo Festival/Celebration, I put all that behind me as I concentrated on my singing and my dancing. :) It felt good to cut loose and act muy estupido! LOL And soon, there will be another chance for me to show my stuff: the Texas Folklife Festival is coming up soon; I go to that every year, too!
Mi primo intantil is doing muy bueno. He is really cute; he's turning into a little stud! He is out of the hospital and is gaining weight and eating like a little horse! He's four months old now, and whenever he comes over with his familia, I babysit him, spoil him rotten! LOL I love him so much!!
Well, I gotta run: gonna go out to eat this morning at mi parentes' job. They are both off today, but both wanted to eat at Golden Corral. That is fine; I love their food, and I can pig out on the burritos and the Mexican rice, as well as the jalapenos: I can hurt myself on the food there!
