June 25, 2011, evening (McKinney, Texas), 9:40 p.m., D.S.T.~
Rat-Nose here. Know it's been a long time since I last wrote in here; seems about the only time I do is around the holidays.
Busy as all get out: working, trying to stay out of my dweeby sister Gloria's way, going to church (yeah, back to that routine, when I'd much rather be sleeping in), and enjoying summer vacation until school starts back up in August (August 20th this year; I'll be a junior). NOT much time to write or do much of anything; working all the time and just want to veg out when I'm not.
Next week is the Fourth of July. May go to the local celebration/parade here in McKinney; or maybe we might even head over to Dallas or even Fort Worth. Don't know yet; plans really haven't been finalized. At least I'm off that weekend; traded weekends with my co-worker, Ping, who works in the kitchen with me, a little Chinese guy who speaks very little English. He's a great worker; just the language barrier is the biggest issue we both face.
Tomorrow is my sister's birthday. Would like to get her a snake (a real snake, not a stuffed toy one! LOL), but I was nice and got her a journal instead. Maybe she can take a hint and stop bugging me and write in it instead of haranguing me all the time. She drives me bat crazy!!
The following week (Saturday, the ninth of July), we're going to the Freedom festival in Crowley; have gone there the pfast few years and have really enjoyed myself. I just wonder if the twin sisters will be there. Was on Facebook earlier, and saw that tomorrow is their birthday. Guess I will have to reuest them as friends; they both seem like nice ladies. I just can't believe that they're fixin' to be 52; they don't look over 35! They must be lying about their age! LOL
Their names are Karen Lynn Vidra and Karla Dorman, and they live in Burleson, Texas.
The twins have been at the Freedom Festival for the past few years, but I've been too shy to say hello to them. I really don't do well talking to people I really don't know or just met; I have to know someone well enough before I really get comfortable talking to them. I'm just like my ma in that respect.
Well, I gotta get back to work. Just ended my break; work until 11:30 tonight, which means I won't get home until 12:30 or 1:00 tomorrow morning. Then I can sleep in and probably miss church.
