I've noticed one thing. When you're nice to other people, they're likely to be nice to you back. When you're rude, then they don't like that very well and will let you know in a nanosecond.
I've had to learn that the hard way.
Last year, I accidentally stepped on a woman's foot while running from some friends at the Fourth of July Celebration last year. She had very painful bunions on her feet; they made her feet hurt badly. Well, when I tromped on her teet with my big Nikes, she screamed and called me dirty names. I stuck my tongue out at her and I thought that she was gonna become unglued.
The woman asked me for my phone number. When I asked her why she needed it, she told me that she was going to call my parents. She did. And my parents really gave it to me. I got grounded for the weekend. It wouldn't have been so bad had it not been for the fact that it was the Fourth of July weekend. I had to stay home; I couldn't even go to the parade or to the fireworks: I had to think about what I'd done.
It was not fun! Lesson learned!
Ever since The Incident last year, I have been working really hard to improve on how I act towards people. Even when they make me mad or crazy, I find it is better if I act nicer towards them, even t hough, in reality, I wanna hit them or call them dirty names. If you do that, then you're only gonna get into more trouble than what you're already in. So it doesn't do any good if you're rude or obnoxious.
I am not going to miss the fireworks (or the parade) this year! No, ma'am! Once was enough; I' mot doing it again by acting stupid! My attitude is a lot better and mom and dad are proud at how hard I've been working to improve it!
