Howdy from Cajun Country, from Grand Chenier, Louisiana!

It's me, your buddy, Shiloh Maxwell Cormier!  Hope this finds y'all well!

I'm okay, but I would have been better had we seen some fireworks for the Fourth of July.  We didn't see ANY.  That really made me mad!  It's because it's been so bad dry here; we are in desperate need of rain.  Everything is dying or drying up and it's getting so bad that if people are caught with fireworks, firecrackers, or sparklers or throw a lighted cigarette down on the ground, they can go to jail and pay a huge fine.  

We did go to the parade and have a picnic lunch, but that's about all we done.  It was a rather boring holiday.  We weren't gone even three hours because stupid Docie (my little sister; she's seven) decided to throw a fit because maman wouldn't get her a blueberry slushee cone.

It was embarrassing so daddy took us home, where he then tanned her hide in the shed in our yard for acting the fool.  I was so mad at her I could have wrung her neck!!  Docie is such a brat!!

Sheryl, my other sister (she's 11) was complaining 'cause her bathing suit didn't fit her right and she's talkin' about going on a diet when she isn't fat by any means.  I don't know where she gets that idea in her head, but I think she's being dumb!

Maman and daddy couldn't handle her whining any longer, so they both got mad and took all of us home.  I felt that I was cheated because I was all ready to go play on the swings at the park where we had our picnic.  Then my stupid sisters had to ruin it for me!  GRRR!

I would watch some firework videos on the computer, but maman said that I am too young to go on a site like YouTube 'cause she says it has a lot of bad stuff on there.  I've seen YouTube at my cousin Dwayne's house, and it's not bad; you just have to be careful is all, and I am sure that I can find some firework videos if I looked!

About the only thing that made me happy about the whole thing was playing my accordion on Sunday after Mass.  I performed at a fais do do in Lafayette; I had a good time!  I have a blue Martin accordion with red bellows; the bellows has a white crawfish on them; it's really cool looking!  Maybe I will get to perform again soon whenever we go back to Lafayette!

I still want to be like Jo-El Sonnier or Belton Richard.  I also would like to be like Wayne Toups, who is another good accordionist and singer.
