Howdy from the (hot) Lone Star State ('cause it IS!). How are y'all doing? I pray and hope this finds y'all well and/or happy! I couldn't be any better! Just got home from my job at the bookstore and am planning on going out with some friends later (they'll be by to pick me up; it's some friends from work). We are going to go to the mall and do some shopping! (Yes, we got paid today; money burnin' a hole in our pockets! LOL Just paid the bills and the rent, so at least that's one huge worry outta our hair!)
Might as well enjoy it, 'cause once my friend pays for gas she might need a loan! Pretty sad when the ol' paycheck don't last a week; gas keeps gettin' ridiculously high and it looks like there's no end in sight!
Same goes with this darned heatwave/drought! It is so dry here on the way home from work today I saw two trees fighting over a dog, to see which tree would get piddled on by the dog! LOL (That's a joke, son! Saw it on the Internet at work during break and I howled with laughter! LOL)
It's me, Annie Mae Pelham, writing. Since I got off the streets, I have been getting myself fixed up. Still have a bit of dental work to go yet, then I should be looking great! The dentist appointments have not been fun by a long shot; I will be so glad when they are overwith! (The church I go to has a program to help low income people like myself; they provide free apointments for medical or dental care at the Free Clinic, which, as it turns out, is close to where I live, so I took advantage of it.) I hate the dentist, but I had no other choice but to get my teeth repaired.
Glad I did. My choppers are looking pretty awesome now!
I'm just worried about my friends who are on Social Security/VA disability or regular Social Security: if the goldanged government can't agree on certain things, then they are gonna hold the checks for the Veterans, seniors, and disabled. Well, isn't THAT just ducky! IF that happens, then what are these poor people gonna do? For some the checks are their only income; how in the world are they goinna pay their bills? Or eat? Or afford their medication/doctor's visits/bills?
I tell ya, the government doesn't have the good sense that God gave a goose! Heck, I'd love to be able to run 'em ALL out of office, especially the President! He's the worst president we ever had! I'm sorry, but he don't know WHAT in the world he's doing! :(
Looks like I'm gonna have to do some heavy praying when I go to church on Wednesday for these dear people. Knew too many seniors or Veterans on the streets: some ended up that way 'cause they couldn't afford their bills or the rent/mortage/car payments, so they ended up on skid-row.
Or they made stupid choices, just like yours truly. Gambled and threw everything away. Still trying to find my family so I can tell 'em that I have changed (oh, boy, have I EVER changed!!) and am no longer homeless!

I'm also worried about the weather. The severe drought continues and it looks like there's no relief in sight. People are dying or getting desperately sick because of being out in the heat or else their power goes out and/or they can't afford to keep cool. We haven't had a decent rainfall since the middle of May: fires are still raging out of control and the ground is drying up (as are the lakes and rivers). If something doesn't happen soon, we're gonna end up becoming another desert! It's horrible! We are gonna have a "pray for rain" date at church this weekend; hopefully God will take His finger out of His ear and listen to His Children! We are begging for relief!!
Well, my friends just came; I heard Wanda beep the horn of her PT Cruiser (it's turquoise; I call her car a "Pretty Cruiser"!), so I'd best sign out of here and go. Take care and may God bless you as much as He's been blessing me; I will write in here again!
