I know it has been a while, but I have had much happen to me. For starters, I just found out I am a month pregnant. I am happy at the news, yet, I am scared because I don't know if I am ready for another child; I can hardly handle Jubaki, what with my health not being as good as I wish it was. And with my blood pressure being so low and my being physically disabled, it's a chore at times; I get so tired all of the time!!!
Secondly, I last wrote before we went to the 9-11 memorial in New York City; in fact, it was the day BEFORE when I last wrote. I was going to write about the memorial, but, as usual, I forgot.
The memorial was ~SAD~, to put it mildly. We went to "Ground Zero", and they had a very moving tribute to those who died during the terrorist attacks of last year; and, as you can very well imagine, I cried ~buckets~ of tears. I saw Stephanie's parents at the memorial service, and I just cried and cried; I still miss her so much i ~CAN'T STAND IT~!!!! I am still feeling numb and angry over what happened that horrible day, and I still find myself not wanting to forgive those fucking bastards who attacked America.
Just WHAT were they trying to prove by doing such a horrible, heinous thing??
I don't understand the reasoning behind the attacks, and I don't think I ever will..~NONE~ of us will, really.
And I recently celebrated my birthday. I am now 26 years old. And just found out I am going to be a mother for a second time. (What a birthday present....) My birthday was during the beginning part of this month, on October 5.
*Oh, my LORD!!* I am getting ~FAT~; I just looked down at my belly, and I noticed that it is sticking out quite badly. I am ~NOT~ supposed to show so much, especially so soon; I am a Maasai, and the Maasai believe that if a woman gets fat during her pregnancy it will be bad for the baby. I have ~GOT~ to get rid of this stomach ~SOMEHOW!!~
Roberto has been busy, between his work at the hospital and going to Reserves a weekend a month. (He goes to Memphis for a weekend and works at the hospital on the Marine base there.) He has also been busy taking care of me and, of course, his son, Jubaki. (Jubaki is getting taller each day; he is already taller than a lot of 2-year-olds'.) And he is getting smart; he talks all of the time!
Talked to Miss Louisiana, like I do every day or so; she says Ronee' is ~FINALLY~ out of the hospital, but she isn't better yet. She is still in a lot of pain, and Miss Louisiana says that next year sometime she will need to have surgery. She is having a lot of problems with her hips and her knee; and it is getting harder for her to walk without being in a lot of pain. Poor little Ronee'; she is so young, but she suffers so much; and it isn't fair!!
As for little Johnny, Ronee' 's brother, he is doing as well as can be expected. As you know he has the muscle wasting disease (oh, I don't know the name of it; so don't ~EVEN~ ask me; I am SO ~STUPID~!!), and he is growing weaker each and every day. He hasn't been in the hospital lately, but he IS spending more time on his breathing tube (oxygen), and he tires so quickly now. I feel so badly for Miss Louisiana and her family because they already have enough worries as it is, and Johnny isn't going to get better. In fact, he is only going to get worse, and eventually, he will be so weak a cold could kill him. His doctors don't think he will live to become a teenager.
The thought of Johnny dying still makes me cry; he is such a happy, cute little boy, and he is so full of love and joy. He doesn't deserve to die so young!!!!
Also talked to my brothers Keserian and Naiser back home in Kenya; all is well there. Naiser is still working hard at the hospital there (he works with kids, and he is a doctor), and Keserian is ~FINALLY~ walking; but he is on sticks. But he is ~WALKING~!! I am so happy for him; he's come a long way since the lion attacked him earlier this year!! It is a MIRACLE he even ~SURVIVED~!!!! {PRAISE GOD!}
Have a bit of sad news to share with you.."Sayidana", our cheetah, died yesterday; she got a kidney infection, and they (the animal doctors) couldn't save her. She got sick last week, and she just got sicker and sicker; and yesterday she died. She stayed at our friend Ron's place, and he called us this morning and told us the news. I have been crying all day; she was such a stunning animal, and I loved her so much. She was just 5 years old, and she had some little cheetah babies; but now they will grow up without a mommy.
This is about it for now. I will write more another day; besides, my eyes are growing wet again as I think about "Sayidana".....
