A young boy is determined to keep an important secret.
I know something that you don't, and you can't get it out of me. I am not telling.
My mom and dad made me swear that I wouldn't tell it and I intend on keeping that promise as best as I can.
They told me about it last night. It is a good secret, don't you worry, but I am not saying what it is. I wish I could, but I would be in big-tmie trouble if I told. Since I don't want to be in trouble, I don't want to tell you.
My dad said that my secret is locked up. He told me to think of a safe at the bank. You know how the bank people keep their money and other important stuff locked up in a big, heavy safe at the bank? Well, that is how I am keeping my secret. Nobody can get to it except me and that is the way it is gonna stay! He said eventually I can tell people at a later time, but for now, the secret should be kept as safe as possible.
Mom and dad said that secret is to be kept in the family. They don't want me telling my friends. I would love to, but as I said, if I don't want to get into trouble (and I don't!), then it's best that I keep my secret safe inside "my bank" and not tell anybody else about it.
Until I say it is okay, the secret will remain locked up in my personal safe, where nobody can try to get it or get it out of me.
Back in the 'good ole days' it was a truism - "Safe as a Bank. ..."
Today, however, most of the big banks are just as CROOKED as the big CORPS and CONGRESS - they got their 'BAIL-OUTS' but then began HOARDING their money - not LENDING any out!
Housing development, Construction Loans, Mortgages, Small Business loans have been at a STAND-STILL! In addition, just for FUN - check the Wondrous Interest Rates they 'give' on SAVINGS!
My own Credit Union grants a very 'gracious' .05% on balances. Just last night while reviewing bank statement, was amazed to find that IF I had $500,000 on Deposit (that's a HALF MILLION DOLLARS) I would get a WHOPPING .75% interest -
LESS THAN 1 PERCENT !!!
Besides not having any money LEFT to Save - they 'RUB SALT IN THE WOUND' for those fortunate FEW who do have money - OH THE GREED!
Suppose for one moment that you bought a Lottery ticket and ACTUALLY WON A MILLION DOLLARS! WOW! What would you DO with it? Put it in a SAFE BANK and stupidly earn a WHOPPING ONE PERCENT?
Invest it in REAL ESTATE that currently SUCKS?
Or rush out to GOBBLE UP STOCKS - which are so SAFE, to get a better Yield?
I understand that 'CASINO JACK' ABRAMOFF got out of prison last December 2010, after serving only 4 YEARS for the Biggest Scandal CONGRESS' has even seen!
Maybe 'DONATING' your MIl to one of his BOGUS Companies could BUY you a 'SEAT' somewhere in Politics, and you could join the 'GOOD OLE BOYS' in RAPING AMERICA, and HELL - who knows, might Double or Triple your money, and eventually become PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! WOW!
What a simplistic suggestion by dad that we can all benefit from! A mind "bank vault" to keep our secrets safe until we are ready to release them. A great solution that I will try to adhere to. Very good advice for us all. Thanks, Karen. Just Jim.
