New Boston, Ohio, August 15, 2011~
Hello! Hope this finds you all doing well; as for us, things have finally calmed down since my last entry. We are back home in our house; it has been repaired, and the children are happy to be sleeping in their own beds. So are Collin (my husband) and myself. We have missed being home terribly!
Our house was destroyed by catastrophic spring flooding caused by excess snowmelt/snowfall; we had a horrible winter. We've also had a bad summer: week after week of the threat of severe weather, but hopefully that will start easing off soon. I am more than ready for some sunshine and/or drier weather!!
The children (Spirit, Tony, Colinda, and Wendell, who are six, 12, 10, and 8) are getting ready to go back to school next mornth: they go back the day after Labor Day. This past weekend, Collin and I took them to the store to get their school supplies and their uniforms; I am happy to say that all are ready for another school year! Well, Collin and I are; I don't know about the children! LOL
Starting tonight, the children will be going to bed before eight thirty; I want them to start getting used to earlier bedtimes. They have had a fairly good summer; now is the time to change their routine and get them acclimatized for school. I know three of them will balk, but so what. It's time to put a change in plans! (Spirit could care less. She doesn't mind; she just takes things as they come. She is probably our most agreeable child. LOL)
I am happy to say Spriit's health has held. No surprise hospital stays or trips to the ER, other than last week, when she accidentally pulled out the tube in her stomach. It scared me stupid, but the doctors were very understanding as they carefully put it back in place and put a gauze strip over it. They even flushed it out and praised Spirit for lying there and taking it all like a big girl. She didn't even cry out once. I (and the doctors and nurses tending to her) were so proud of her! Spriit is our brave little girl full of courage!
Maybe we should have named her Courage instead of Spirit ... :)
Oh, big news other than moving back into our house: I am pregnant! The Jones-Parker family is going to add another chlid! I am four months along; next month we should find out what the baby is. I personally hope it is another girl, but Collin (not to mention, Tony and Wendell) want another boy. I don't care: as long as the child is healthy, then that's all that's important. Even if it wasn't born healthy (like Spirit was), we would still love/cherish it every day of our lives!
I am already showing (looks like I swallowed a basketball! LOL) and have had to break out the maternity clothes again. Good thing I saved the ones from when I was pregnant with our (now) youngest child! I've also been getting clothes from church friends, not to mention, new baby toys, diapers, and such!
Collin and Tony have been busy converting the guest room into a nursery. It is really coming along!
Collin and myself have been wrangling over possible baby names. Right now, for a boy, we have the names Galen Micah and Gage Hamilton picked out. As for a girl's name, we have Rebekka Maureen and Ryleigh Michelle.
I like Wendell's suggestion better: he wants to name the baby "Spot". He wants a puppy, but seeing he is allergic to animal fur, that doesn't look like an option. LOL And I am NOT going to have a child go through life with the name of "Spot"! LOL
Well, it's about time to put Spirit, Tony, Wendell, and Colinda to bed. They may not like goin to bed before it gets dark, but too bad. They are gonna have to start getting used to an earlier bedtime; I want them to get up on time for school: none of this later bedtime stuff for them, now that summer vacation is about overwith! (On the weekends, maybe, but even then not super late because on Sunday we have church, and I am not having them miss out on church!) Take care and God bless; I will write in here again another day!
