I thought the nightmares were over.
I couldn't have been more wrong.
Several months back, I killed this stray dog that had a death wish. He was out for blood. MY blood. I couldn't get out of the house: he ruled my life.
Every time I would even attempt to go outisde, I swear this dog had radar hearing. When I'd open the door, he would forcibly fling himself towards the door.
Me.
I'd slam it, and there he'd be, barking and growling ferociously. I don't know who owned this beast, but this had been going on for a week or so. Got tired of it, so I had to kill the dog, for my safety and sanity.
I was finally able to get my life back. Go to work, pay the bills, see my friends without worrying about this canine terrorist who was determined in his doggie brain to do me in.
It was wonderful.
Too bad it couldn't have lasted as long as I would have liked.
The dog I killed must have had a posse backing him up. For, you see, there are strange dogs that I have never seen before roaming around the neighborhood, barking, growling, and threatening to attack people.
Just yesterday, as I was coming back from my mother's house in town, I got chased by a red Pomeranian who was trying to bite my ankles. He was snarling deep in his throat and spittle was spraying all over. He sounded like he was choking: he had a very high-pitched, piercing bark, but it was hoarse from yapping so hard.
I wanted nothing more than to bash his stupid head in.
I wanted to laugh at this peanut-sized killer who could do very little damage (except to my ankles), but I knew better. The dog was clearly not happy with me.
He wanted to get more than my ankles but sadly, due to his small size, he couldn't. It was rather comical.
Then this beautiful Irish setter appeared. Like the little dog, it was barking and growling. Great, I remember thinking: these dogs are the dead dog's hit men (okay, canines).
Were they out for revenge, for killing one of their own? Surely not, I thought.
That's when the Irish setter lunged at me and the Pomeranian was doing a wild litlte dance, trying desperately to get higher than my shins, failing miserably as he tried to jump on cat sized legs.
This morning? Yep: you guessed it. Opened the door and both the Pomeranian and the setter were waiting on me. Barely got the door shut before they were attacking it.
Now I am gonna have to stay indoors until someone can do something about these damn dogs! I just called the animal control place; they said they were sending someone out.
Damn dogs. I guess this is what I deserve for killing that dog earlier this year.
