I am a proud U.S. soldier, serving in the Marines (OOO-rah!!). Stationed in Alaska now, but don't know where I will end up when it is my turn to go to war. Probably will end up in the Middle East somewheres: Iraq, Afghanistan, or Pakistan, where trouble continues to bubble over.
Not looking foward to it, but I'll go wherever they need me. Have to fight for our freedoms which are disppearing every day; I am very worried about the United States of America ...
I am writing to you today to see if you can do me a huge favor. I am asking that you keep all of our military men and women who are in harm's way in prayer.
I am asking for divine protection, peace of mind and heart, blessings and provision for their needs, warrior angels to surround them as they go about their business in defending our country, and if they do get hurt, pray for swift and speedy treatment and their recovery.
If any of my military brothers and sisters get killed, I want you to pray for their families, especially when they receive the news and make funeral plans for their loved ones. Please pray for peace to cover them, peace and comfort that passes all understanding.
They need to know that people care. That they're thinking of them. Praying for them.
Pray for those Veterans who were fortunate enough to come home. Some of them have missing limbs, have their minds scrambled up, or are rendered disabled in some way due to battle or injury. I know a lot of them are having a hard time adjusting to their post-military life, and especially to their disabilities, whatever they may be.
Some are only mildly disabled; others are living with catastrophic injuries that will effect them for the rest of their lives. In addition, a lot of these brave soldiers are having PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) and are often depressed.
To help them cope with the bad memories, these soldiers often turn to drugs or alcohol because they can't deal with the flashbacks; they do this to dull or numb the pain that they frequently suffer.
I have heard way too much in the way of horror stories regarding how our military and Veterans are treated. It sickens me that our country doesn't reach out and do more for them. There are soldiers and Veterans living on substandard pay.
Worst of all, there are soldiers and Veterans going hungry and living on the streets.
This should not be. They served. They sacrificed. They should lack for nothing!
What is going on here? This is supposed to be the richest country in the world; why are there are many receiving such poor care from our military and Veteran's hospitals??
And WHY are our soldiers being charged with "war crimes" when the enemy is using their own people (women, elderly, the handicapped, the most vulnerable people in society) as shields and human bombs to do their dirty work?? Something is wrong here, and it infuriates me to no end!
I, and they, would greatly appreciate any (and all) prayers! They need them. Their families need them.
Our soldiers are getting a raw deal in life, and it's time to say: "ENOUGH!! NO MORE!!" Thank you in advance!
