My name is Mabel Addington.  I am sixty-five years old, and I am proud to say that I am in college!

Decided that sitting around the house wasn't for me, so I decided to go to school to get a degree in Journalism/Creative Writing and become an author or a professional writer!

Now ain't that a kick in the head!   :)

I have been going to college for the past year and a half.  I absolutely LOVE it!  I am going to be a junior later next year, but right now I am a sophomore.  I hardly go anywhere because I always have assignments to do.  Seeing I do live alone, I have the time to work on them. 

I don't go out much excepting to church on Sundays and Wednesdays.  I go out to eat once a month with some girlfriends I grew up with, but other than that, I am usually home, stuck on the computer, working to get my homework completed.  I don't mind, really; I always have loved a challenge!

It is fun interacting with the young kids.  They are all so bright and full of life!  They make ME feel young and they kiddingly call me "Grandma M".  I get a kick out of it, each and every time!

Today I have class from noon until six; then I will be home, probably doing more homework if the professors decide to pile more on.  Tomorrow is my short day and in the evening, I have church.

I always look forward to church.  It gets me out of the house and way from the computer/homework!  Same applies whenever I go out with the girls once a month!

I was married, but I am widowed.  I lost my husband, Frank, to lupus just before I started school.  I didn't want to spend my time home thinking about him all the time, so I decided to go to college.  It has been a godsend!  While I still miss him, I don't have any time to be depressed because college takes up a lot of my time, and I enjoy it so much!

Well, I'd best get ready and get something in my stomach before I go to my first class.  I will write in here again soon; until later,t his is Mable saying so long and God bless!
