Dear Journal~
A very sleepy Johnathan Sandusky here. Hope this finds y'all well and happy. As for me and my brand new bride, we are doing fantastic (although a bit cold; it's COLD up here! BRRR!!)!
Rebekka is sleeping; I am sitting in my chair, watching her. She is purring delicately; it's adorable! I can't believe that she is my wife! I am a very lucky man!
The wedding went without a hitch. Everything fell into place: it was as if God orchestrated it with His divine hand. It was absolutely beautiful. Rebekka was absolutely beautiful! When I first saw her, it literally took my breath away. A vision of pure loveliness.
I remember I was nervous: I could feel my knees knocking together like castanets. Rebekka was nervous too, but she didn't show it unless you looked at her eyes. All of my family came; it was so good to see everyone again! We got to meet Ronee' 's fiance', Michael Stinkowitz; they are getting married NEXT year. Everybody is doing well, I am happy to say, but our family has really exploded in size (and our family is already big enough now)!
The weather was rather cool, but the leaves made for a fantastic backdrop for our wedding. Pastor Bilkey was the one who married us; even he was crying as he performed the ceremony. We had both Christian and Jewish elements, so as to honor my wife's and my heritage (she being a Jew, and me, a Christian).
For the reception, we had a band that played all kinds of music: country, Cajun, polka, rock/pop, rap, classical, gospel. The reception was held at the bandshell at Centennial Park, and the floor was always full of dancers. There was no alcohol served, which was fine with both Rebekka and myself. We wanted our wedding and reception to be geared for families.
After the wedding, we left in a white Hummer limo to go to the airport, where we then boarded our plane to San Francisco, California; we, in kind, then flew to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and finally, to Fairbanks, Alaska, where we still are as of this writing.
The other night, we had an auroral display that was the best one I had ever seen: Curtains of vivid red, green, blue, yellow, white, pink, and purple exploded overhead; it was AMAZING!! The aurora covered the entire perimeter of the sky. Then I heard that 26 states reported aurora sightings. I wonder if my family back home saw any. I am sure they did; Tennessee was listed as one of the 26 states.
I thought I had seen auroras, but the display the other night went above and beyond my imagination! It was glorious!! Rebekka and I just looked up with awe and wonder.
For now, we have decided to live in Nashville, Tennessee. We may eventually move somewhere else, but as of now, we both want to be close to family and friends.
Well, I am getting sleepy (it is only 4 in the morning here), so I am going to lie back down and go back to sleep. Until later, this is Johnathon saying so long; may God bless you as much as He's been blessing us! Take care!
~Johnathon. :)
