Attention Wall Street protesters: Quit whining and go home

The social media generation has helped create the biggest group of whiners any generation has ever seen. The Whining Generation would be an appropriate title of a book for a generation that thinks it’s first in everything but in reality, is last.

Let’s start with some facts. You will never accomplish anything by pitching a tent on Wall Street except prevent hardworking people from doing their jobs. That’s right, people who really want to go to work. Secondly, you’re wasting taxpayers’ money because of the mess you leave behind that everyone has to pay to clean up. Thirdly, nobody wants to wade through your tents in your camps to get to work. They might not tell you that to your face but I would. I realize some of you would probably start throwing bottles at me but that’s why you’re there. Protesters will never understand that what they’re doing is part of the problem and not the solution.

Attention protesters: Here’s the $1,000,000 question. Where in the hell were you three years ago when the stock market crashed? Yes that’s right; it’s hard to check your calendar when you’re inside a tent. Oh, I almost forgot, a lot of you probably have a smart phone which only adds to your hypocrisy. The last time I checked the stock market crashed in September of 2008. Why did it take you three years to put up a banner and say you are against corporate America? The ultimate irony is that most protesters don’t have any idea what they’re really against. It’s time to take a look in the mirror protesters because in it, you will see the problem.

I realize people have the right to protest. It’s part of the American way of life. But as soon as other people’s property is invaded or destroyed or even worse, somebody’s life is put in danger, then it’s time to go home. Think about all the time you’ve wasted whining and complaining and knowing that you’ve accomplished nothing. Most protesters are just as selfish as the people who they say put them there, the Fat Cats on Wall Street. What a great party that would be, self centered protesters and greedy corporate executives. Well in this country everyone is invited.

It’s time for Americas to take a good look at themselves.  Just about everyone contributed to this problem. I wonder how many people protesting right now bought a house they couldn’t really afford or purchased a gas guzzling SUV they did really need. Face it people, just about every one of us is to blame.  As long as we keep spending money we don’t have and China keeps buying our debt, we are never going to get out of this crisis. America is simply paying the price for greed.

Obviously our politicians have no clue. We have a president that thinks the United States can spend its way out of this crisis. That won’t work, believe me, I’ve tried it. We also have a stock market that is hooked up to computers with algorithms so sensitive that when the wind blows it sends stock prices plummeting worldwide. I love listening to someone trying to explain the stock market on the news or radio. By the time there done they’ve contradicted themselves at least five times. Attention all financial analysts: You have no idea what is going on nor can you predict the future. All I can say is that the future does not look promising. 

Then you have the protesters. In the great city of Seattle where I live they are congregating at Westlake Center. Needless to say, I will not be going there to shop anytime soon. I don’t want to have anyone yelling at me with a sign that says: Stop Corporate Greed! I would probably yell back something like, “stop peeing on the sidewalk first!”

Attention protesters: Do everyone a favor and go home. I’m sure you have a lot of video gaming and Facebook accounts to catch up on. And for anyone over thirty-years-old blocking any sidewalk in the name of your so called cause, shame on you, you should know better. All of you would be much better off if you went home and wrote your congressmen/woman and told them your grievances. It would also solve or at least contribute to what you’re trying to accomplish. But we can’t have that could we protesters because then you would have to pack up your tents and go home.
