A young girl writes about some of her dreams.

I can think of several different things I would like to be when I grow up to be an adult.

For instance, I would like to be a mommy.  I think I would be a good one.  I love children and I especially love babies.  Babies are so fun and cuddly and I love hearing their noises and teaching them things.  I have a baby cousin and he's very easy to take care of.  I just love Preston so much!

Another career I would like is to be a teacher.  I would like to teach handicapped kids and teach them that being disabled is okay.  I have another cousin who is disabled and is in a wheelchair.  She cannot walk; she was born with something wrong with her legs.  Yet that doesn't mean she cannot do anything because I'm here to tell you she CAN!! She is vey smart; I just love Jocelyn!

A third thing I would like to do is be an astronaut.  I think that would be cool to go to the moon and see how life is different in outer space than it is here on Earth.  Maybe I could even see a Martian or two or maybe even discover a totally new planet or star that nobody's even heard of.  Then I would be famous!

I would like to be a singer as well.  I absolutely love Loretta Lynn!  Loretta Lynn is my favorite singer; I have seen her fouteen times in concert and have even been to her ranch in Tennessee and even got to meet her! I had my picture taken with her too! She was so nice but the first time I met Loretta I got so excited I threw up right in front of her! I nearly threw up on her!  I was so embarrassed I wanted to DIE!!

Mamma says I sing good; she says I kinda sound like Loretta when I sing.  Well, one shouldn't be so surprised: she's about the only country singer I will listen to.  I know all the words to her songs and I have practiced my singing just by listening to her on my CD player!

I would love to sing on the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee, one day.  I think I would be able to do it; I have the want-to and can always work on getting better with my voice/singing!

There's only one small problem, though: I have stage fright bad!!  The last time I tried to sing on stage I got so scared I forgot all the words to a poem I was gonna read and then peed myself.  I left a nice yellow puddle on the floor, right in front of everybody to see.  I wanted nothing more than to have the stage open up so I could fall right into the hole and never show my face in public again!

Kids still tease me to this day about that day two years ago.  I don't like to talk about it or be reminded; the next kid who does that is gonna get a nice, big, fat punch in their nose!!  I have had it with being teased!!!!

Mamma says the kids do that 'cause they only like me and want to get to know me better.  I say with friends like that, I certainly don't need any enemies!!

Or maybe I'll just concentrate on being a kid.  After all, I have my whole life ahead of me.  I am only ten years old.  I'm still a kid and should not worry so much about growing up too fast.  Yet those are some of what I would like to do when I get to be an adult.  I have plenty of time to think about that; I'm not in no hurry!
