Last week we went to the zoo ... "we" being Mom, Daddy, my two brothers Tristan and Colton, myself, and our baby sister, Kaileigha.  Our aunt Edith came too.  Aunt Edith lives in Florida.

We had a marvelous time; however, I had to laugh when we went to the monkey house:  every time Aunt Edith went to look at them, the monkeys and other apes would turn their backs towards her and show their butts.  Some even went as far as going to the bathroom.  It was pretty gross, but I thought it was funny ... so did Colton and Tristan, who laughed almost as hard as I did.

Aunt Edith is here visiting us for the Christmas holidays.  We kids are out of school until the sixth of January (WHOOP!! WHOOP!!) and Daddy didn't want Aunt Edith spending Christmas alone, so he invited her to come stay with us.  Aunt Edith gladly accepted the offer.  She came on Monday.  It's now Thursday, three days before Christmas.  She'll be here until January 4th.  We are having a good time with her ... and with each other.

Aunt Edith has already helped us with the Christmas tree and has taken some of the kid-sitting duties off Mom and Daddy's shoulders.  They have enough to do getting ready for Christmas without us kids butting in and/or getting in the way when they are trying to get things done.

Anyway, back to my story.  Daddy thought it would be fun to take her to the zoo.  We kids agreed unaminously.  If there is one thing we Warrenton kids like, it's looking at all the different animals and learning all we can about them (from a safe distance, of course).  So we went, and we had a ball.  

Besides the apes and monkeys, we saw elephants, lions, tigers, cheetahs, bob cats, lynxes, leopards, caracals, tapirs, lemurs, owls, eagles, and other birds of prey, flamingos, egrets, pelicans, bears, zebras, elk, reindeer, etc.  We saw every animal you could possibly think of.  It was great! 

Daddy and Mom took lots of pictures.  We will put them up on Facebook probably later today.  The pictures were developed today; most of them turned out great!

We still tease Aunt Edith about the monkeys and apes showing their backsides to her.  Maybe they thought she was as ugly as sin or were mad at her because she didn't have any food for them.  I don't know, but when they showed their bare assets, Colton, Tristan, and myself (Eagan) howled with laughter. It was the funniest thing!

Aunt Edith, on the other hand, has other ideas.  She thinks it is rude for us to laugh at her like we have been, but you had to have been there to see how the apes and monkeys acted when they first laid eyes on her!! It was absolutely hysterical!!  LOL
