G'day!

My name is Scott Russell Dawkins and I am 13 years old.  I live in Kenosha, Wisconsin, now, but I was born in Australia, near Darwin.  We moved here to the United States of America when I was only four.

I have sun-bleached orange hair and dark skin, not to mention, eyes that are so dark they are nearly black.  I am Native Australian: I am what people refer to as an "Aborigine", though most people think I am Black, of which I am NOT.

My friends call me "Didgeridoo", which is fine; I have no worries about that at all.

I am in the seventh grade (but right now we are on Christmas vacation; I don't go back to school until January 3, 2012).  I do pretty well in school, all things considering, but I really don't care for it.  For one thing, I hate getting up before six every morning, so this break has really been bonzer!!  Since school ended for vacation, I haven't been getting up until noon ... or later!

Besides my mum and pop, I have my grandmother Rosie and my sisters Vernoica and Colbi (Veronica is 15; Colbi, meanwhile, is only seven) and brother Darwin, who is three, living with me.  We also have a dog, a Pug, we named "Vegemite" (Colbi came up with that name! :) ).

I am a normal teenager.  That is, I like to play football (soccer to you Yanks), American-style football, badminton, baseball, basketabll, tennis, and cricket (I am extremely athetic), talk on the phone, hang out with me mates (friends), bugging my brother and sisters, read, watch television, and play with the new Wii game system we got for Christmas, among other things.

One day I would love to go back to Australia ("Oz" to we Aussies) for a visit.  I would love to spend Chrissie there.  For one thing, whilst it is winter here in America, in "Oz", it is summer.  On Chrissie (Christmas) over there, the Aussies love to go to the beach and have barbies or go swimming.  (Translation for those of you who don't speak Strine: we love to have barbeques on the beach.)  

We Aussies have a very special way of talking.  And Chrissie is one of the words you will hear there.  Strine is a whole 'nother language; a lot of Yanks (what we call Americans) have plenty of problems trying to understand our manner of speaking.  :)

When I grow up, I want to be either a professional football player or go into the military.  I would like to be a Marine.  Marines are super cool!  Marines are tough and I think I would look good in the unifroms that they wear.
