My name is Abigail (Abi) Grace.  I am seven years old.  I am going to write about my dog, "Babette", who is my bestest friend.

I got Babette when she was a puppy.  She is now two years old.  I was five when I got her.  I adopted her from the animal place.  Mommy and Daddy took me and I got to pick her out.  We've been best friends ever since.

Babette is a poodle.  She is peach colored with dark brown eyes.  She is very cute.  Babette loves to chase balls, chase our Maine Coon cat (though our kitty is much bigger; Babette thinks it is a game), snuggle with Mommy and me (Daddy likes her, but not like Mommy or I do) , bark at the birds or other dogs that are outside, and chase her tail.  Babette is a very active little dog; she is happiest when playing or when people are paying attention to her.

I got Babette because Mommy and Daddy thought I needed a friend.  I am an only child; I don't have any brothers OR sisters.

I'm also disabled.  I'm in a wheelchair.  I cannot walk.  My legs were born paralyzed.  I can walk a little, on crutches that are bright orange, but most of the time I use my wheelchair, 'cause it's a lot easier for me.  

Babette is the best thing that could have ever happened to me.  I just love her so much!!!!

I wish I could have a brother or a sister, but Babette is the next best thing.  She is very smart, and I like to think she understands everything I tell her.  When I am sad she will lick my tears away and that always makes me feel a lot better, especially if I have to go to the hospital for a surgery or if I am sick.  When I am there in the hospital, I wish I could sneak Babette with me, but the nurses and doctors, they don't like that, so I have to leave her home.

That makes me very sad.  Yet it is nice when Mommy or Daddy come visit me.  They always bring me funny cards or presents to make me feel just a little bit better.

Well, I have to get ready for bed; school starts back up tomorrow.  We had Christmas break, but school starts again.  Boo!  It was fun getting up after eight and getting to do whatever I wanted and especially playing with Babette and all my cousins!   Take care and God bless; I hope you enjoyed reading my story about my dog!!  I just love Babette!!
