Dear Journal~

Howdy!  How are you?  I'm afraid I'm not so good ...

Caught a bad cold; started feeling sick yesterday morning while going to class and it just kept on getting worse and worse; ended up having to leave school early.  Was home by three (I don't get out 'til four thirty), came home and called my boss and told her I wouldn't be in, as I was sick.  (I was scheduled to work at the Campus bookstore from 5:30 until 10:30 last night.  Didn't even make it.)

I have been blowin' and goin' ever since.  One minute, my nose is stuffed to the gills; the next: running like a faucet.  It's horrible!!  If that isn't bad enough, I have been sneezin' and snottin' everywhere, not to mention, coughing my fool head off.  THEN you add the muscle aches, the  (usual) joint pains, and the chest congestion.  UGH!!!!  I feel HORRIBLE!!!!

I'm now lying in bed, feeling sorry for myself.  Know it is only a cold, but dang, I hate being sick!!  Michael has been taking good care of me; even made me some of his yummylicious homemade chicken soup last night, to try to soothe my poor, abused nose and sore, scratchy throat.  I just don't want HIM gettng sick!!  The kitty has been lying beside my belly, purring her face off.  I love "MyCajun"; she can always make me smile, even when I am not feeling my best!  

I have my oxygen mask on.  Hate the thought of plugging up the prongs on my nasal oxygen, so I am masking it today.  UGH!  That's a pain 'cause I have to take the mask off to eat or talk and it sounds like I'm mumbling!!  UGH!!!

It is helping, thank goodness, but I just hope I don't sneeze in the mask!  EWW!! That would be too disGUSTing! LOL

Michael called my family back home in Tennessee to let them know I was sick; they were sorry to hear it, but not half as sorry as ME!!  I am sure that Maman and Daddy will get a care package or send a card; they always do whenever any of the kids who no longer live at home get sick.  I have such great parents; I am so blessed to be their daughter!

The weather here hasn't been helping: cold one day, warm the next, rainy one day, the next day, sunny ... UGH!!  I wish this weather pattern would make up its dangfool mind; I swear the weather has bi-polar!!

The other day we had severe storms; no tornadoes around us, thank goodness, but several times the tornado sirens sounded, so Michael and myself (plus the cat) had to shelter in the closet until the "all-clear" was given.  Thank goodness no damage or especially NO tornadoes occurred!

Well, I am getting sleey; this cold medicine that I took is already kickin' me in the tail, so I guess I'll do the best thing for me when I'm sick: SLEEP.  I will write in here again soon; know it's been a while.  Sorry about that; it's just that I have been so crazy-busy!!  Until later, this is Ronee' Reaux signing off; take care and God bless you!  Say a prayer for me, that I get over this dangfool cold!  I would appreciate it!
