We thought this day would never come!

We go to the airport today in just a few hours to pick up our newest family member!!  We are beyond excited!!

It is going to be an all day celebration: besides Jim and myself (Amy) and our two older children (Freddie and Gina, who are 13 and 16), my mom, Peggy, and her new husband, Charlie, are going to go to the airport to meet Gregory Jans, who is coming from Holland!

We applied to adopt a child over a year and a half ago; well, last week, we were informed that we were getting a little boy with spina bifida, and now, after a month or so of preparation, the Big Day is finally here!!!  We cannot believe it!!

After we pick Gregory up at the airport, we will probably go out for a celebratory dinner at Joe's Crab Shack and maybe take the kids to a movie or maybe even bowling.  That sounds like a wonderful plan!

I don't know how Gregory is going to take all this excitment, but one thing IS for certain: we plan on loving him and giving him every opportunity in the world to succeed in life!  We want him to be happy and we want to let him know that he is loved and that we are very glad to have him as part of our family!

I will write in here again in a few days to let you know how Gregory is doing; until then this is Amy Brenner signing off!  We are busting our necks trying to make last minute preparations around the house before we leave for the airport!!  I am so excited about the prospect of meeting little Gregory I can hardly stand it!!!!
