I am grateful.

I might not have much, but I am gratful for all that I have.

I have a roof over my head. 

I have food in my belly.  This morning I had a bowl of oatmeal, an apple, and a breakfast bar, as well as orange juice to drink.  It was very good.

I have friends who can come and check up on me and ask me if I need prayer or anything else. 

I have a loving church family who calls me and sends me cards of encouragement if I am having a bad day, healthwise.  Or if I am in the hospital or am sixk, they never fail to come and see me.

I have neighbors who have become some of my dearest friends.  They never fail to make me laugh or just to come over to chat and let me know what is going on.

I am grateful because I was born in the greatest nation of the world, the United States of America.  We may have our problems as a country, but compared to many, we have far more than anyone will ever have in other countries.

I have some money in my pocketbook, thanks in part to a local church (not my own) who brought over some food and an envelope.  Inside the envelope was crisp, brand new $100.00 bill. 

I have my health (such as it is): diabetes, kidney and heart failure, arthritis, fibromyalgia and good doctors to keep it in check.  I do get by with crutches but on longer trips, my scooter is my steed.  I am able to walk, just not real well, but I am grateful that I AM able to walk some days!

I don't need a mansion or diamonds or other fancy baubles: I have all I need in my own apartment and I have all I need in life.  My God has never failed me; He will continue to sustain me and provide all that I need.  That's another thing I am grateful for: my strong steadfast faith in a loving, all-sovereign, all-knowing, all-forgiving God who cares for not only myself but for ALL His children who call upon Him!

Well, I gotta go.  Another doctor's appointment at 11:30.  Better call Wanda for a ride, since my car is in the shop.  I just hope she is up or I might be late!  I will write in here again soon; until later, this is Renee' Watterson saying so long!
