Dear Journal~
I never realized just how much work is involved in caring for a tiny human! My new baby boy sure keeps me hoppin' sometimes! Yet I wouldn't trade little Cordavious Shane for anything in the world: just barely a month old, and I have already fallen hard in love with him!
Cordavious came into this world, weighing 6 pounds even: a little squirt, but perfectly healthy, which is a huge blessing from God! He looks just like his daddy: he's beautiful!! Currently, Cord is sleeping in his crib; just checked on him and all is right in his world. And in mine.
Daddy Cord is at work; meanwhile, I am currently on maternity leave. I will probably go back to my shop in about six months, when the baby is a little older. Right now, though, Cord needs me.
My neighbor, Cymberly, is here with me. That way, if something should happen or if I need anything, she can help or get a hold of my husband if need be. I am so glad she is here: sometimes I don't feel so trustworthy of my big, incompatent hands. I'm a big girl: always have been: just gotten fatter, thanks in part to the baby! :)
I now weigh over 300 pounds. GAD!! I'm a BLIMP!! Am tryin' to lose it, but it ain't easy, not with my health givin' me fits at times!
I do go to an exercise class for people with disabilities at the local fitness shelter; when I go, then Cymberly and baby Cord go with us. Everybody already loves him; he's very popular with the older ladies, who pass him around like a sack of potatoes. I get so nervous when they handle him; am always so scared they're gonna drop him, but thankfully, that hasn't happened as of yet!
The weather is stunning here: temps supposed to soar into the lower to middle eighties today, which is way above normal for this time of year. It's been warm just about all winter and everything is starting to bud already, plus the flowers are starting to bloom. Really pretty to see, but what is gonna happen when a cold snap comes? Then everything will die from the cold! (We have only had snow once and a few cold days; otherwise, it's been terribly warm or mild for this time of year.)
NOT cmplaining, mind you, but the winter sports fans (or those who love cold weather) sure are!
I'll tell you one thing: it (the mild/warm weather) is a lot kinder on my body, that is for certain! I am lovin' it!!
When Cord wakes up from his nap, then Cymberly, myself, and the baby will probably go out to eat for lunch. Today we might go to the Rain Forest Cafe'. We haven't been there in a while and we both love their food! We'll probably then go shopping until about four; then we'll head on back so I can be home in time for when Cordavious gets off of work.
Maybe I'll bring him a doggie bag of some food. Surprise my husband. Yeah, that sounds like a great idea! :)
And maybe if Cord, Jr., has been good, I can get him a nice stuffed cheetah or snow leopard or something. I think he would like that: something to chew (or drool) on! :)
Well, hell's bells, I hear the baby squeaking. He must be waking up. I will get off here so I can tend to him and then get ready for our adventure today. Sure am lookin' forward for a way to get out and enjoy this nice spring time weather; better get out before the cold air hits us in the azz! Take care and God bless! I'll write in here again soon!
~Love, Sheniqua. :)
