We can't believe that in just a few moments, our brand new son will be joining us!

After all these months of waiting or not knowing what was going to happen, the dream we had is finally going to come true !

We are currently at the airport, where we are waiting for our brand new son, Toulouse Letrec, whom we are adopting from Haiti.  Toulouse is eight years old and is a gorgeous peanut of a child with heavenly chocolate-brown colored skin, pink palms and soles, huge black eyes fringed with long lashes,  a straight, aristocratic nose, and a perfect bow-shaped mouth.  He is absolutely gorgeous!

Toulouse doesn't speak much in the way of English.  Toulouse speaks mostly Creole French, which is a mixture of French, English, African, Spanish, and German.  He knows maybe a dozen English words; other than that, it's all Francais for this fun one.  This is going to prove to be a daunting task, as we don't know much French, but we are willing to do so, for our boy, so we can communicate with each other!  We will then work on his learning English.  

Toulouse was adopted because he was orphaned in the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti a few years back.   The earthquake killed his entire family: he ws the only one who managed to survive.  

Toulouse is also disabled.  He is in a wheelchair: he was left paralyzed when his house collapsed on and around him.  It was a miracle he wasn't killed along with his family, but God has plans for this child, and that was to be taken out of shocking poverty and being placed into a loving family here in America that would be willing and ready to love him and raise him as their own.

That family happened to be us, the Burke family:  my husband, Raymond, myself (Trudy), and our five children:  McKenna Faith (10), Hannah Grace (9), Toulouse Letrec (8), Jayden Michael (5), and Hogan Danielle (3).  It was four kids, but now it's going to be five, thanks to the impending arrival of Toulouse into our bunch!  As you can imagine, all of us are wild with excitement!!

Oh, my God!! They've announced that Toulouse's plane has landed!!  He will be here in less than fifteen minutes!!  We'd best get to the gate, so we can be ready to meet our newest bundle of joy!!  He's here!! Our brand new son is HERE in AMERICA!!!!  I don't know if we can stand too much more!!  All of us are giddy with joy!!!!
