Howdy from Grand Prairie, Texas!!!!

My name is Burkeley Dawnae' Rhodes.  I am eight years old.  I live here in Grand Prairie, Texas, with my Mama and Daddy, and my two little brothers, who are six and two.  Their names are Bryson Patrick and Bodie Michael.  I get along swell with 'em most times, but sometimes we fight like cats and dogs.

I love to do many things, but I guess my favorite things to do are dance and sing.  I take dance and voice lessons from Miss Prissy, who is my teacher at the dance studio; she also teaches voice there two times a week.  I go Monday through Friday after school, but on weekends, if we don't have a recital or another performance, I love to play with my friends.  

In addition to singing and dancing, I love to ride my horse, "Belle Chasse", visit my auntie and uncle who live in Lafayette, Louisiana (we see them about once every month, or on special days like Easter, Thanksgiving, or Christmas), go to church, play soccer or softball, and draw or write stories.

When I grow up, I want to be a nurse or a teacher.  I would also love to be a singer or a dancer.  My mama is a nurse and Daddy, he is a teacher.  He teaches the big kids at the high school.  When they are working, Grandma Louie comes and babysits Bryson, Bodie, and myself.  I love it 'cause she takes us to the movies or to places like the mall or Jack in the Box or McDonald's.

I have many friends, but my best friend is Hadassah Rose Kleinfelder.  She is in my class at school and we're together at school and at the dance studio.  Like me, she's into dance and loves to sing.  I have known her since we started taking dance at the age of three; we practically grew up together, and our mommies are best friends.

Well, I gotta go: Mama is gonna pick me up and then take me to the dance studio.  Today I also have voice, so that means I won't get home until eight o'clock or so tonight.  At least I can sleep in tomorrow, as it is Saturday.  And then on Sunday, we have church.  I will write in here again soon; until then, this is Burkeley Rose saying so long!  God bless you always!
