Howdy from the Lone Star State!

It's your little Texas friend, Kata Danae' Fitzhugh!  I hope and pray this finds y'all doing good!  I am doing great!

This summer, we're gonna go to Nashville, Tennessee, to see if I can get a shot at singing at the Grand Ole Opry.  We're also gonna go there 'cause I'm gonna record my first record.  I am so excited, I can't hardly stand it!!  It seems that my dream to becoming a country singer is coming closer to coming true !

A big shot record producer heard me singing at the Wylie Opry here in Wylie, and he ws so impressed, he talked my parents into going to Nashville.  He says I have something (whatever that means, but the way he said it it must be something good!), and he thinks that I could become the next Loretta Lynn or Dolly Parton!

Whoa!! Imagine that!!!!

We're also gonna go to the CMA Music Festival.  Maybe I can meet me some big time country stars while I'm there!  I hope so; I would love to meet my all time favorite, Loretta Lynn!

Mama says that Loretta Lynn wrote a new book.  I didn't know she even had a book out!  Maybe I can talk Mama into checkin' it out at the local library; I'd really love to read it!  (Mama says she [meaning Loretta Lynn] has written several books.)

We had a nice bumpercrop of Texas bluebonnets this year.  Because it was so warm this winter, the warm weather gave the flowers and trees an extra chance to come out earlier than normal, and the bluebonnets were really soemthing spectacular to see!  For my school picture this year, I posed in some bluebonnets; it came out really good!

Now the weather people are saying we could have some bad storms this weekend, including the possibility of tornadoes.  I hope not; I hate storms!  I always get scared whenever the skies turn black, the winds start blowin', and the hail and rain starts fallin'!  And we don't have no shelter to go to when tornadoes come!  If a tornado is fixin' to come, we hide in our bathtub and pray to God to keep us safe!

It's not very fun!

I have a new sister. She was born in January.  Her name is Dusky Bluebonnet.  She is really pretty: her eyes are the color af a Texas bluebonnet (which is how she got part of her name) and a headful of fuzzy, soft black hair.  She is really cute!  I just love her so much!

So now there's five kids in the family: me, Dusky Bluebonnet, Kadie, Kent, and Kasey. 

Did you ahve a nice Easter?  We sure 'nuff did!  We went to church and then out to eat; we ate at Joe's Crab Shack.  It was yummy!  Then we kids went to the park, where they had an Easter egg hunt and I won; I found at least ten eggs!  So I was the winner!  I was so happy!  It was a nice day!

Well, I gotta go.  Have homework.  I will write in here again soon; sorry it's been so long!  It's jsut we kids have been busy singin' and pickin' and grinnin' and then we have our trip to Nashville in June to look forward to!  I'm really excited about that 'cause maybe I can become a new star!  That would be so cool!
