Leila is amazing. No, GOD is amazing.
Hard to believe that just about a month ago, my wife was fighting for her very life in the Intensive Care unit, hooked up to machines and tubes. She's now in a regular room, eating, talking, and laughing, and the doctors are thinking of sending her home in just days!
It's been nothing short of miraculous!
My wife caught chickenpox when our six-year-old son had them. We never dreamed she would be so sick, but she was. She continues to heal and the scabs that had covered her entire body are beginning to fade and peel. She looks like she had a bad sunburn, but her looks have defintely improved markedly.
It's a thousand miracles she didn't have any of the complications that could have arisen as a result of this illness; God had His hand upon her the entire time and I couldn't be more grateful!
Today, Leila wanted to go for a walk. Well, seeing she is still rather weakened, the nurses put her in a wheelchair, and I took her outside, so she could enjoy the beautiful sunny weather going on here in Nashville. We were out for about a half hour before she got tired, so I wheeled her back to her hospital room, where she took a nap until just about fifteen minutes ago.
This was about 12:30 when I took her for her walk (rather, ride).
Leila got to talk to our little boy, Kyle Lane, who is six. She cried with sheer joy when she heard his high, piping voice. I know Kyle must have been excited; this was the first time he had been able to speak to his mother ever sine this all first began. I know he wants her home; he misses her terribly. Well, the feeling is mutual. I miss our boy; I haven't been home all that much, with what going to work and running to and from the hospital and home (and back to the hospital again).
I am sure that Kyle has been counting the days until the joyful reunion. My mother has been a saint watching over our son while I have been camped out at the hospital (or working); I don't know how I am ever going to repay her for all the help she's given to us during this crisis!
Mother is just as excited at the prospect of me bringing Leila home. She loves her just about as much as I do; she keeps telling me that "Leila is a keeper".
Well, Leila wants to lie down again, as she's tired, so I will let her. She neds all the rest she can get before she goes home. Until later, this is Leo Chadwick saying thanks for all your prayers; they certainly helped wonders! Keep those prayers coming!
