Been over a year now since The War first began and things aren't any better than the last time I wrote.  If anything, things continue to grow worse.

More and more cities are being obliberated or taken over by the Martians; millions upon millions of people have been taken hostage or died; I haven't heard from several friends in months, let alone, seen my cat, "Tinkerbelle".

I wouldn't be surprised if one (or all) are dead or wiped clean off the face of this earth ...

So far we have managed to stay safe in our shelter, but what's to say we won't be the Martians' next target?  I am so sick and tired of staying holed up like a vole I could just spit.  I haven't seen the sunshine or felt the fresh air in I don't know HOW long; I'm going to start getting moldy from being hemmed up inside our basement!!

If you ask me, I think the Martians are being stupid.  If they don't like us, then why in the hell are they even HERE, bothering us or destroying our way of life the way we know it??  I just can't seem to figure them out (nobody can, it seems; even the president is helpless as to how to confront the problem or what to do about it ...)!

I don't know what's down the pike, but if something doesn't change soon, I just might have to take matters into my own hands because it seems the adults don't know what in the hell they are doing!  I don't know what I am going to do to solve this ever-increasing alien problem, but I have to think of something QUICK!
