I look at your small, still, sleeping form as you lie peacefully at rest in your bed; and I feel nothing but a rush of love and other emotions. Honey, you have been through so much in your young life, but you have emerged from each trial, stronger and more determined to overcome whatever life throws your way. You are the very essence of courage and grace in the midst of such incredible challenges; and I am in awe whenever I look at you.
God gave me you and your brother, Johnny, when you were both just very small; you were only 3 months old when you came to us from Louisiana; and from the start, we were instantly smitten. Sure, you had your health woes, stemming from your earlier-than-normal birth, but you were still beautiful; and you continue to grow even more so as you grow older and bigger. Your eyes shine with much joy, and your young face mirrors the joy in your heart as you proclaim God's Love to others; and you have grown up into a very intelligent and talented young girl nearing the age of ten years.
True, you have your physical difficulties, but Ronee', you rarely complain, even on your worst days, where I know you must be going through hell, in regards to your arthritis. But you still wear a smile on your face, and you let everyone know that all is well with you, even though it may be otherwise. And you get around so well on your crutches; and you never let your handicaps throw you. You keep on going, and your determination never ceases to amaze or astound us!
And your musical gifts are miraculous. You have such a beautiful singing voice, and you have blessed others with your gifts. You have done so well for yourself in your drive to become a country music performer, and as long as you are happy doing it, well, then, we are happy, too, along with you. If you want to stop doing this for a living, by all means, go ahead and do so; we won't stand in your way, and we will not, in any means, stop you from your decision. Show business is a hard, rocky life, and it is full of disappointments; but you are strong, and you are more determined than ever to succeed. We are so proud of what you have accomplished, and we love you for it. And others love you, too. Always remember that, Dearest Heart.
You are one of the reasons why I go on living. Dearest Heart, you are no longer a baby, but you will always remain one of my babies! You were our first baby girl, and you will always hold a special place in my heart! You have earned it, Dearest Heart!!
