My little sister, Jinx Alicia, is a star. Just because she went on America's Got Talent (and managed to pass her audition with flying colors), all of a sudden, she's Little Miss Popularity. Suddenly, everybody wants a piece of her.
And I can't deal with it. Jealous?? Perhaps ...
Jinx has always had the gift for performing. She is only six years old, but as long as she has a pair of tap shoes on her feet or a song in her heart, she's ready to stop on any stage and charm the socks off whoever will hear her.
And Mom has fueled that dream by encouraging her to take dance and singing lessons. She has since created a little monster and now all I'm gonna hear about is how Jinxie, my little sister, became a sudden star seemingly overnight.
UGH!!
My name is Jasper Archibald. Don't ask me why our folks gave us kids such crazy names, but they did. I am ten years old and am the quissential boy-next-door: I would do anything for anybody (but as for being a personal chaffeur to my little star of a sister, well, mister, that's drawing the line!).
I love my sister, don't get me wrong, plus I have to admit that she IS talented, but as for me, talent and I don't have a very good relationship. I sing like a dying frog and my tapping skills are next to nil. I have two left feet; whenever I try to dance, I step on everybody's toes until people are begging me to stop prancing around like a wayward mule.
I'm Mr. Pathetic. If I were to get on America's Got Talent, I'd be the first one buzzed off even before I started performing in front of the stupid judges!
"Buzz!" "Buzz!" "BUZZ!" (That last one being from Howard Stern.)
And the comments? I'd probably hear things like "You can't possibly be related to darling little Jinx! You don't have the talent!" "My 90-year-old grandfather has better dancing skills than YOU!" Or "You think you're gonna clodhop your way to Las Vegas?? Not on yer life, pal!"
None of this "You're the next Gene Kelly!" type stuff! (I have but one question: who in blue blazes is "Gene Kelly"????)
Anyway, my sister passed her audition, which means that Mom will be traveling with her to Las Vegas, to see if she can advance to the next round. If she does, it will be even more "Little Jinx Mania". Meanwhile, I will be forgotten like yesterday's news. You just watch. Soon it will be Jinx, Jinx, Jinx, and I will probably be known as "my other child ... ah, er, good ol' what's his name"!
I can see it all now .... UGH!!!! Stupid little starlet sisters!!!! I wish "America's Got Talent" had never been CREATED!! I hate that show; now I have a good reason to hate it all the more!!!!
